Great hike with lots of view points, birds, seals and some sea otters if you keep an eye out. Don’t miss the Whalers Cove info center for a history lesson on the area.

Poison oak definitely abundant so wear long pants. Beautiful views of the ocean but relatively flat, so easy to get to. Parking for a fee but lots of spaces at 9:00am, just be willing to park somewhere around the loop and not at the main spot (you can still hike the whole trail)

Park opens at 8am.. we got there at 8:10 and had to wait a few minutes to get in.. lot was full by 845am on Memorial Day (not much parking inside). Lots of poison oak so stay on trail and you should be fine. This I was an amazing loop.. not very strenuous and very clear path. Great views from all locations. we saw deer, rabbits, sea lions, sea otters, dolphin, shark, birds

Definitely come to the park early in the morning! I went on a Monday in the shoulder season and they closed the car entrance at 11 a.m. because all parking lots within the park were full. Also, to my fellow Europeans here: Read about poison oak before coming here so you know how to recognize it! Especially the North Shore Trail is fairly overgrown with poison oak.

Beautiful state park. Lots of tourists but not overly crowded. Sea otters, sea lions, pelicans, and amazing views.

Point Lobos is gorgeous. My All Trails app kept going off line and wouldn’t direct me to correct trail heads, instead of 6 miles, I did 9ish. One of the trails were not marked as closed and I went all the way in and couldn’t exit it so I had to double back to get out.

First time visiting. Celebrated my 71st birthday completing this bucket list loop. I am not a hiker but here's my advice. Wear boots. Layer. I'm always cold, but removed 3 layers as the day turned sunny. Arrive early. If you pay to park, take the road straight ahead and park in the first lot you can. If you're doing the loop, you'll get back to it eventually. Take your time. 2h 30m is really inaccurate. I didn't need this app for the most part, but it was nice to check my progress. I was advised by a volunteer to walk the North Shore Trail and skip the knoll. I traversed large boulders, a few staircases, and large roots, but I took my time and managed. One water bottle is enough as there are plenty of restrooms to refill.

Conditions: Great!

Amazing park. Such diverse little pockets everywhere. Tons of fun wildlife to look at. Easy hiking and can easily knock out the whole park in 3 hours. Worth it!

It’s an easy trail to hike with beautiful coast views. Saw harbor seals and lots of birds. 10% shade and 90% exposed but it wasn’t too warm so it’ was a good hiking condition. It can be windy so wind beaker can be handy if needed .

Stunning California Beauty. Saw, seals, wildflowers, caterpillars, many kinds of birds. Ocean. Kelp. Interesting rocks. Wear long pants there's a significant part of the trail where the poison oak is unavoidable brushing on you from both sides The parking was full on a Thursday at noon but it was not hard to get street parking a quarter mile away and walk in and while there were some parts near the beginning where I wished there weren't quite so many people there were definitely also parts with a little more solitude.

Conditions: Great!

Trail was easy to follow and offered a lot. We parked near Weston Beach and then headed toward Hidden Beach. Loved the areas near the coast. We saw a deer and baby sea lions. Had fun exploring the tide pools. We took the North Shore route and found it a little less friendly, but still not too bad.

Baby seals!

Beautiful and diverse trail.

Wear comfortable hiking shoes

Easy hike with stunning views. Lightly rained, but it didn’t bother me too much. Arrived a few mins before 8am, and there was several cars already in line to the park. Definitely recommend to come early morning or late afternoon.
