#7. Red Velvet Communion Cake

Aoifes Homemade Commuion CakeMy family love red velvet cake so when my daughter asked me to create her a red velvet Communion cake, I was unsure how it would turn out.

I cheated and used a cake mix, but there are loads of red velvet cake recipes online if you want to make your from scratch.

I created the icing using 2 tubs of mascarpone cheese, mixed with a few drops of vanilla essence and 2oz of icing sugar. I then added a First Holy Communion cake topper cross and some sugar petal flowers.

It was all scoffed on the day!
