Manchester-born Max is bringing some Northern soul to the dancefloor - and hopefully some of his boy band moves!

Max is best known for his success as a member of pop five-piece The Wanted, landing two number one and 10 top 10 UK singles, all while performing to adoring fans across the world. He lived through it all with bandmate and Strictly alum Jay McGuiness, who took home the Glitterball trophy back in 2015. Let’s see if Max can make this a double win for the band!

Before becoming a popstar, Max made strides in football, playing for Manchester City and Oldham Athletic, but injury hampered his progress. It was then he turned to music, finding success on The X Factor as part of boyband Avenue, later securing a record deal with Universal.

Leading Max to join The Wanted and finally find his place on the charts. After four fabulous years together, the band took a hiatus, opening up acting opportunities for Max and securing him a recurring role as Clint on hit US series Glee.

Since then, he’s kept his creative passions alive, releasing his own solo singles and working on various TV and film roles. Now he’s got to put that energy into dancing, but admits he’s got some way to go.

“Current level of dance ability? I don’t know, I’m going to go in the middle and say five out of 10, but I might be completely overshooting it with that!,” he said. “It might be like a two.”
