Eager to start. Researching the program has made me feel comfortable with choosing Capella. Grateful for the opportunity.
Grateful for the opportunities
Organized, motivating and helpful, expensive. Very assistive counselors. Easy to use systems/dashboards.
I have been wanting to get back into school and it was an easy decision to start with Capella university. The reason why I started with them was because of the guided path program.
I like the coursework and the assignments, but the papers can be difficult to understand since there is no lessons/learning material. All learning comes from various articles/ I would find it more helpful if there were lessons or a textbook with assigned reading.
I have had nothing but positive experience with Capella University, I did have a couple semesters where I was a victim of domestic violence and then I also was attending while Covid 19 was in its worst I lost my mother and my father both to Covid, so I failed a couple of courses those semesters but I was able to better my living situation and deal with losing both my parents I managed to remain in school. The instructors have all been very helpful and understanding through all my troubles.
Capella's MSW has been great! I feel supported by the professors and the academic coaches. The classroom discussions are engaging.
I am currently taking Sophia General education classes online before my core classes start and I am really enjoying how everything is set up. The classes are tailored to my needs as far as course loads and tests. I also really like the retake policy and the leeway, as if everyone can make a mistake here and there.
Definitely was a flexible learning experience for me. They were very informative and the counselors have been so helpful in getting me connected to what my future career has to offer to me!
The best parts of my experience with Capella is that everything is online based and I can take my school with me where ever I go. But there is a down side to all online learning , if you have a question you can’t physically go ask the teacher like in a sit in classroom set up but the good out weighs the bad in this situation.
Capella University courses have been engaging and challenge you to think about things differently than you may have previously. Facilitators are knowledgeable in their fields and most are quite helpful and truly interested in seeing students succeed.
This is a great program for full time workers! I was able to skip my bachelors degree to go right into a masters degree program.
So far, the experience has been great, aside from the cost. The residencies are in person but the rest has been online which is nice- except the cost of the residencies due to traveling from far away regardless of where the residencies are located (they have a handful of places they are in contract with for these... none of which are super affordable per se). I've learned a lot, however the program I am in was not adequate for my state so many additional courses have had to be added to my degree program in order for it to meet the requirements for my state. It's a for profit school so the cost will be higher, overall though, it's been a better than expected experiences.
The advisors are always readily available to speak to whether it's over the phone or email. Professors are great and so is the coursework.
I earned a scholarship on account of my outstanding grades and adeptness at mastering intricate concepts. The interaction between my professors and me was excellent. However, the only hiccup arose in communication with my advisor. Nonetheless, it was a positive overall experience.
The application and acceptance process was a breeze. Currently waiting for classes to start. I imagine that I will like it and look forward to starting.
The best part is that I get to work full time and study in my own time and comfort. The worst part is that I am my teacher and since my program is clinical there is a lack of in-person practice opportunities to hone my skills as a future counselor.
