Prepay for your checked bags
Save time at the airport by prepaying for your checked bags. On some routes, you’ll also get a discount when you pay more than 24 hours before your flight. If you’re traveling within the U.S., you can use your miles to pay before check-in.
Make the check-in process easier by prepaying for bags before your flight. For some routes, you’ll also save money on fees. You must prepay for bags more than 24 hours before your flight to save.
How to prepay
Enter your confirmation number under My Trips.
Select the "Prepay bags" icon.
Enter your info and check the details.
Select "Continue to payment."
When you get to the airport, print your bag tags, put them on your bags and leave them with an agent at the bag drop counter.
Bag drop shortcut
Prepaying for your bag online and checking in online will save you time at the airport with bag drop shortcut. Check a bag during check-in on united.com or the United app. Then, drop your bag in the bag drop shortcut area at the airport.
