Reading Memorial High School Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 151 reviews
I am graduating from Reading Memorial High School this year and have overall had a good experience. I was a freshman during the pandemic, and I believe the school adapted to these changes pretty well, and the transition back into in-person learning was smooth. This school has many opportunities in the arts, which is a highlight for me. I was able to participate in Playwriting Club, Improv Club, Theater productions, and take many good art classes. I know that the band program is also very good. Students are encouraged to participate in sports, clubs, or even make their own clubs. This past year there have been a lot of changes that Administration have created, such as removing and slowly reintroducing Senior Privilege and changing the schedule. I appreciate that they are making changes that could positively affect the school, but the changes have gotten a lot of important feedback from students, faculty, and parents that is not always listened to.
Overall my experience at Reading Memorial High was one that I truly enjoyed and will remember for the ret of my life. The overflow of school spirt and participation in things like spirt week are what really made for some of my best memories at the school. The quick and helpful team of guidance staff also made my life super easy. One thing I would like to see change are the intense and very prominent politics involved with almost every high school sport. A harsh political sports culture really ruins the joy of the sport for a lot of students and overall creates a toxic and unfair envoirnment.
The current faculty and school administrators work extremely hard to make Reading Memorial high school safe and welcoming. It’s a place where everyone can be heard regardless of background and beliefs. I’m truly honored and proud to say that I am from such a strong, empowering and loving community.
