Chase Maddux enters his second year with the Rebels as a graduate student-manger at UNLV after being added to the program's staff by Rebel head coach Stan Stolte in August 2021. 

The Las Vegas native returns to his alma mater where he pitched for the Rebels from 2016-2021. During his time as a Rebel, Chase started in 39 games and played in 50. He ended his career with a 4.61 ERA, pitched for 207 innings, claimed nine total wins and threw more than 2,300 pitches. 

Prior to attending UNLV, Maddux attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas where he lettered for three years in baseball, helped the Gaels to a 33-2 overall record in 2015, as well as Nevada State and Sunset Region championships and led the Gaels to finish second in the nation in 2015. As a senior, he owned a 4-1 record and an ERA of 2.53 in 27.2 innings of work in seven appearances, five of which were starts. 

Maddux comes from a baseball family, his father, Greg, was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014 after a storied 23-year professional career (1986-2008) pitching for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. His uncle, Mike, pitched for 15 years (1986-2000) in the Major Leagues for 10 different teams. 

Chase graduated from UNLV in 2021 with a degree in hospitality management and is currently pursuing a master's from UNLV in urban leadership.
