  • Maya Postepski is a Canadian producer, composer, drummer and DJ living in Berlin.
    Maya Postepski is a Canadian musician and producer from Toronto, currently based in Berlin. She has been making music for over fifteen years, best known as drummer of the electronic group Austra (Domino). She co-founded, co-produced and internationally toured the first 3 albums with Austra including the Juno and Polaris Prize nominated Feel It Break. She is a multi-instrumentalist, prolific remix artist and DJ. In 2012 Maya co-wrote and produced the highly acclaimed, Juno nominated cult album TRST with Robert Alfons as TR/ST. The duo recently reunited to collaborate on the highly anticipated third album, The Destroyer Part I, released April 19, 2019, which will be followed by The Destroyer Part II, Nov 1, 2019. 
 Maya performs solo under the title Princess Century. She released her second full-length LP, Progress, with Paper Bag Records on October 16, 2015. She was also featured as a vocalist on Egyptrixx’s Chrysalis Records (Night Slugs). Moving beyond the typical role of a DJ/Producer, Maya creates a vast array of music ranging from pop, to ambient, to minimal techno. She is also actively involved in curating/consulting for dance pieces, fashion shows, installation work and film scores. In 2015 she produced the album Forever by Soldout and Plastic Heart by Ghost Twin. Her ongoing musical relationship with Berlin’s Magic Island saw their first song Turn Away released on the Warm Heaven EP July 12, 2019. She also has a new collaborative project with seasoned Belgian producer Antilope. The duo are finishing their debut album under the project title 6AM. Since relocating to Europe, Maya has spent much of her time focusing on being active as a DJ in some of the most renown international venues including Tresor, Paradiso, The Button Factory, Club Revier, Powerhouse Moscow, OT301, Suicide Circus, Razzmatazz etc. She also appears as a live performer and DJ’s regularly at festivals, queer parties, and has regular radio shows at Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio and Brussel’s Kiosk Radio. 
 In May 2017 she stopped touring with Austra to focus on producing and DJing as a solo artist. Her third solo album will be released late 2020. It was made at two polarizing geographic locations- Estonia's acclaimed Narva Artist Residency at the Russian border, and in the Sahara Desert. Maya was invited to participate in the 2018 session of the Berlinale Talents program as a film composer, and scored for Leonie Krippendorff’s latest feature film, Kokon, which will be premiered at Berlinale 2020. She also scored Stephen Dunn’s Closet Monster which won Best Canadian feature at the Toronto International Film Festival. She is currently playing live with Emel Mathlouthi and Peaches.
