anyone versed in Pixar or Dreamworks will undoubtedly see those influences here. That fact alone doesn't negate what the film does well though. And it still tells a captivating adventure story using fully realized characters.

It was very cute, I thought i was going to see the beast that is filmed in Africa, by mistake got the wrong ticket. If I had my grandson of 7, I would have enjoyed it more with him.

A visually stunning piece of animation. The plot is a cross between Moby Dick and How to Train Your Dragon. There is nothing particularly new here, but it is done very well. It falls down, for me, in two places. (1) the comedy accents are awful and sound like the local villages production of Pirates of Penzance. (2) Maisie is just annoying. She’s always right and she just grates. Apart from that, this is an enjoyable family film with big sea monsters. And a cute little one - just for those extra merchandising opportunities . I understand that a sequel is planned - that’s not something that would be unwelcome

In a world where monsters roam the seas, prepare for an adventure that will take you to waters uncharted! As a legendary monster meets a young girl, the two strike an unlikely friendship with a sea monster that shows them that the stories that were told were not true at all. A whimsical and impressive animated adventure, this film gets less credit then it should!

The Sea Monster is a brilliant movie. An incredible animation with strong characters and an important message. The young female protagonist is an incredible role model for strength, courage, confidence, compassion and emotional intelligence. This is a must watch. It immediately makes its way into one of the best ever movies and animations.
