I booked the hotel room last minute at a discount rate. Good price for the value. The hotel is very near the train station but quiet and not many people around. The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated.

This is a gem of a hotel. Not too big, not too small; fabulous staff who can’t do enough for you (unobtrusively). The only drawback is I slept so utterly beautifully I missed breakfast! Despite being on a busy road it’s super-quiet, the room was perfectly appointed, the air-con efficient, I just wish I had more reasons to visit Richmond so it could become my London home-from-home. It’s wonderful.

The spa facilities are really lovely. Great range of indoor and outdoor pools / jacuzzis and nice sauna and steam room. The first bedroom we were offered was quite dark but the staff were great about letting us switch to one with more natural light. Overall vibe of the hotel was relaxed and attractive. Lovely shower and comfy bed.

The location of this hotel is excellent, giving easy access to the beautiful Richmond waterfront and shops. The main plus was the quality of the bed which was very large and comfortable and the air conditioning which made sleeping much easier. Sadly, the plus points were heavily outweighed by the minus points.

Purchased standard double room however bed I received was small double which was insufficient for two people. Room was hot and noisy with only small fan provided. Staff unhelpful when I asked for refund as room was not as advertised. Too much - I checked out and went to Travelodge. I advise you to do the same - at least you know what you will get there. Shame as would like to support independent hotels but unfortunately this hotel's idea of customer service is about the same level as Fawlty towers

The hotel room was spacious and clean, we loved the complementary Sherry and Gin on our arrival. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the bed was so comfortable it was definitely one of the best night’s sleeps we’ve ever had. The spa is great too, good sized pool and hot tub outdoors, the relaxing room was also great and we got to chill in there for the afternoon without it being too busy. We had breakfast in the room in the morning and there were plenty of options available, all of them really tasty!

Travel lodges and Premier Inn can learn a thing or two from Shandon Hotel. The Manager and the staff makes my stay here exceptional comfortable and they generally makes sure that their guests are really looked after. I always leave here refreshed and ready to work my night shift.

Such comfortable beds! I rarely sleep well in hotels but this bed was lovely. Breakfast was very good too, although I was uncomfortable with how close the tables were to each other. Staff at the hotel were brilliant, from check in to check out. Personally, I disliked the bathroom solution in the room. The position of the mirror in the room means it isn’t as private as I’d like! Next time we’ll stay in a room with a totally separate bathroom, as we have done before.

The hotel location is superb , however it was a but like a cruise ship, great front but then when you go to your room it’s like a ship . The room was okay but very very hot , small but it’s London . After 2 nights we were ready to go . Little but student accommodation size . The staff were fantastic . The breakfast okay but the location is the winner,
