This compilation is over 30 years old now and it’s still the best comp that has ever been released on the band, yes maybe the sound is not the greatest by today’s standards (it sounds fine to me) but the material has not had the life remixed out of it and sounds very close to the original albums and singles which I have. Cally Callomon (who put together both this and the 1990 version of the “Boy Child” - the best Scott Walker ‘60’s comp on cd) put a lot of thought and care into compiling this and did a great job. If you are concerned about the sound - buy the late ‘90’s reissues of the original ’60’s albums on CD and recreate this compilation as it is, only “Young Man Cried” sounds better on this compilation after comparing this album to those reissues if truth be told. Recommended.
