  I’ve been eagerly anticipating soul-singer Ledisi’s concert since the release of her latest, The Truth, and the announcement that she was touring with Robert Glasper Experiment. Eager because I’ve read article after article on Ledisi’s transformation and growth; watched her perform on Black Girls Rock last year and David Letterman in March; and noticed how free her spirit appeared during her I Blame You video, and this interview on YouTube.I knew seeing the singer up close and personal would solidify everything I perceived – that Ledisi truly has reached the point of living a full and genuine life. With third row seats at The Warfield in San Francisco, I was a close as I could possibly get to seeing her star shine. This makes the fourth time I’ve been blessed to see and hear the vocal ability of Ledisi. And this was her best performance yet. There is something inherently powerful, inspiring and remarkable watching a woman live and stand in her truth, and it was evident from the very beginning of the show that Ledisi is a woman no longer confined to a box. She’s lifted the constraints; broken the chains of societal conformity, and has fully embraced her authentic self. Through five costume changes, Ledisi, with her locks steadily swinging, gave us her truth with each note, vocal improvisation and dance moves. Ledisi dancing? Yes you read that right, and sistagirl has some great moves! “Yes honey, this is the new me, and I’m not ashamed of it! Actually, this has been me all along; I just haven’t been able to express myself!” she said. With hips swaying during That Good Good, she switched from her short black and white polka-dotted halter dress, to an all-black and silver ensemble for Rock With You and Bravo. You know you can SANG when the microphone is down by your navel yet it picks up every word coming out of your mouth. And that right there is proof of what makes her standout from what’s playing on popular radio today. Ledisi is a truly powerful soul singer who can hold her own against the greats. Every Ledisi show I’ve attended always ends with a message of encouragement, and Wednesday night was no exception. Leading up to the inspirational song Alright, Ledisi reflected back to the time when she was ready to give up and leave music. One conversation with her mother changed everything and helped her create the song Alright. “Right at the brink of giving up I called my mom and said, ‘Mom, I think I’m going to quit; I just don’t fit in.’ She said, ‘Ledisi, I don’t want to hear all that; you’re going through some things but you gonna be alright.’ And I said, ‘Dang that sounds like a song.’ Now she wants 15 percent every time.” My greatest take away from the show: A woman should never lose her “walk.” What Ledisi gave the night I saw her was an unforgettable, was she really singing and dancing while maintaining great vocal integrity performance that won't soon be forgotten. And she achieved this all while looking flawless and fabulous!

• Ledisi Anibade Young has gained both critical and commercial notoriety for her soulful R & B since releasing her debut album 'Soulsinger: The Revival' in 2000. A bold title yet when after seeing Ledisi perform live you realise the label is entirely justified as she completely embodies everything that the genre of soul stands for and creates music very true to these values.

  She has been consistently releasing music since 2000 and the reputation of her live show has grown at an alarming rate. The singer now has no problem packing out venues of people wanting to hear that incredibly rich vocal. Away from her brilliant voice, Young is an incredible front woman and builds instant rapport with her crowd through her sincere and modest personality.

  The way in which she plays with her band is also wonderful to see as all the musicians clearly enjoy working together and feel passionate for the music they create. Ledisi successfully proves that she is very much a bonafide soul revival.

• Ledisi is one if my favorite R&B singers. I've been fown with her even before she got signed. I did understand the tribute she was giving to the legendary Nina Simone. Her band had legendary musicians behind her. Including another favorite Patrice Russen. The two sets were great filled with amazing back up singers. They did 16 songs frim a catalog than is huge. I just had a wish that they would have done some of their own hits.

  I had cheap seats up in the upper balcony. The legendary Apollo. Theatre is an old building. This is not modern stadium seats. I was cramped in my seat next to a guy bigger than me.

• It was hype, but what made it even better for seat 3 and 4 on Row E. LOL Ledisi stood right beside me at the concert on a chair!!!! Gave us words of wisdom while her voice belched out proudly I'm a woman, a woman, a woman, woman, WOMAN! Wooooo! The crowd was electrified throughout the moments. Leela James was AWESOME and Raheem he did not fail us! My partner and I enjoyed ourselves! She was the one with the purple in her buns. I loved it and as soon as Ledisi decides to come home again we will purchase some more tickets!

• The show did not get started until almost 9. Tweet was very late and only sang two songs. I was really there to see tweet not let us see or Melanie Fiona. However since the two of them actually got to do their whole set the night wasn't a total waste. Standing room only is pretty tough on your legs for 4 hours. So make sure you're wearing super comfy shoes if you go to this venue. I'm very upset at the lateness of tweet and the lack of performance.

• Ledisi was phenomenal at the Hollywood Bowl along with Patti Austin, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Judith Hill, the band Patrice Rushen, Mindi Abair etc this was the best concert ever. OMG OMG wow these ladies are very soulful and collaborative with such fierce intensity and masterful scatting skills. They Rocked the house especially when they did their versions of Natalie Cole they put their own swag on it.

• Awesome show! Ledisi and Gregory Porter did their thing! She was very I tuned with the crowd. I especially like how she called out the people taking pictures and videos. It was very distracting to those of us who tried to vibe, but had to deal with camera flashes and bright lights. Other than that, I would recommend anyone who love the sound of a pure vocalist to go see her perform.

• amazing! it was my fourth time seeing her live. she never disappoints when it comes to live performances. everyone should see her live. it's an absolute must! her opening acts were Leela James and Raheem DeVaughn. everyone started on time. very prompt and professional. as well as putting on a great show. no complaints this way.

• Ledisi has such a dynamic voice with a soulful groove. Kept me on my feet. Plus being in the very first row, right in front of the stage was a bonus. Although the concert was on a weeknight, it was well worth staying up for. Awesome performance. Can't wait to see her again !

• This is Sistah has Class, great vocal skills and pretty good dance moves! Loved the show. Will Definitely recommend people to attend her performance! The band was very good. The music did not drown out the solist, I could hear the words clearly.
