Our chef was an older Asian man. At least he looked the part. Food was cooked correctly and to special requests. The starter soup tasted different than what I am accustomed to but was not bad. The ginger salad dressing was good. They upcharge $3...for fried rice, which is crazy because almost every time we we go to a Japanese steakhouse, everyone has fried rice! Our Filets were cooked perfectly, juicy, and had a good flavor. The chicken was not dried out. It could have used a little more teriyaki sauce on it, but other than that it was good. If you are in this area, try them out.More

After our food was served my wife looked up at me and said sorry. That’s my main point. We were hungry and just had some Kava next door. We’re going elsewhere but wife was hungry. Went in ordered and both got chicken dishes. Other than...the tasty sauces the chicken was tasteless and just a blah overpriced experience. Waitress was okay but listened to next waitress explaining happy hour our there and gone. This is a one and no moreMore

Great food, good company (chef wise) and overall good experience. With most menus increasing in price due to this crazy inflation, things were a bit expensive, but no more expensive than another other restaurant. We were immediately greeted at the door, and had no problem...being seated at one of the hibachi tables (maybe because it was June and out of season?) but still very good. Took a few minutes to be served, but was worth the wait. The cook/chef's wit and humor while cooking our food was great and the food was excellent as well. Big portions, you definitely won't leave hungry! Reasonably (in fact very good) priced beer and wine, which is not always seen. We will definitely return, so I would recommend going if you are on the fence whether to try this or not. No more true hibachi restaurants in Naples, so this is the closest, but worth the drive!More

The restaurant has two distinct venues, japanese hibachi where your food is prepared at your table and traditional dining. Given the current COVID situation, we opted for traditional dining. Our reservations were at 5:30. We were seated promptly. We ordered several combo diners. With the...chicken and filet, the filet was well prepared, the chicken on the other hand was quite dry, like it had been prepared hours ago. Someone ordered the chicken and steak, here the steak was way over cooked. All around the fried rice side dish was dry and flavorless. Of the four of us, there were three thumbs down and one. "this was ok". A very disappointing dinner given the reviews. we. read.More

Really bad service and reservations. We made a reservation on open table for 7 pm arrived on time and were told we’d need to wait because we used open table. 38min later and after 6 other similar sized parties w/ reservations that arrived after us...were seated, we were shown to a table. We ordered waters and drinks which took more than 20 min to arrive. Food was ok and chef was average for this type of place. Overall a pretty poor experience. We rarely saw our waitress and I had to chase her down after dinner to get the check. I’ll admit it appeared some other tables had far better service but our experience was not good.More

Excellent Asian cuisine. The all you can eat Sushi was terrific. I had the Udon noodles with shrimp which was delicious. All the food was fresh, flavorful and steaming hot except for the Sushi of course. The Mizo soup was as well. Most impressive was...the unbelievable service we received. Papa Suon was a very happy boy.More

Rude manager , waited 40 mins with a reservation and very un covid friendly restaurant. I strongly advise you to spend your money elsewhere. As we sat down they said the sushi was unavailable as there was lots more orders behind ours. All of this...could have been managed by a polite staff member who could have said - sorry for your wait and got the table some drinks or edamame or something sinple. This guy was rude. Yes it was Christmas week but then don’t be greedy and take our reservation in the first place. I read below this has happened frequentlyMore

Had a reservation with two confirmations which they mysteriously didn't have when we arrived. Told us we would have a table in 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, we had to inquire and were told it was going to be more time. If it wasn't a...grad celebration for my son, I would have walked out but I didn't want to disappoint the rest of the party. Food was mediocre at best and service was disastrous.More

We had reservations at 7:30 and were seated at 8. Ordered drinks and waitress forgot about them, While this place is typical “Benihana” style Japanese steakhouse, the layout, table, and bar are very nice. Particularly good were fried rice and filet mignon. The chicken and...shrimp were average. I’d give this place another shot.More

We have been supporting this place for the last year, but it has issues. We like to sit outside as they have a nice outdoor setting and decent "tiki bar". Last Friday they had three girls outside and were moderately busy, but could not come...close to keeping up. We were sitting at the bar and witnessed multiple tables coming up to the bar and asking for another round, or for something. Many of the staff were at their register behind the bar for very long periods of time doing god knows what. If you have three people working, ONE should be able to stay at the bar and hold the fort there... Not the case. There was a "new"bar manager working that nite, but it wasn't working. The new bar manager made some nice changes to the tiki bar to make it more tiki like, and she really wanted to make some nice pretty drinks, but with all the running around she was doing, thee was no time for this. Had she had the ability to be an actual bar tender, this may have been possible. The other two girls were pretty young, and maybe their experience level was not there yet. To make matters worse, a man from the inside (manager or owner) kept coming out and telling one of the young girls she needed to be inside. Not only is it unprofessional to let customers hear and see this, she clearly needed to be outside as they could not keep up. Seems like over all management issues, under staffing, general lack of knowledge of how to run a restaurant properly.... Needless to say, we will not be going to Tokyo Bay tonight. Maybe in a few weeks we'll give it a try again, but I don't have high hopes. Learn to staff properly, it always seems to be at the root of the problem. Oh, and they missed three things on our order and we know the bartender entered them... so that is a kitchen problem which also seems to be a reoccurring thing there..More

The happy hour here is worth the trip to Tokyo Bay. Its located Right off the 41 past South of Bonita Springs Road, its easy to find, although its tucked away in what looks like an office complex. Up to 7 pm, the happy hour...has 3$ glasses of wine, and $5 sushi rolls, which can get you and a companion a nice meal for under 30$. The rolls are made with the same type of care that regular rolls are made with, and they don't skimp on ingredients because the 8 pieces of sushi are inexpensive. Good recommendations are the California rolls, Grouper Rolls, Mexican roll, Tempura roll, sashimi (salmon or tuna), and a few of these should fill a hungry stomach. The outdoor patio is a nice spot to eat, it has a beautiful water garden with some nice vegetation surrounding, giving the feel of a Zen Garden. The pluses are these: -Good central location for South Fort Myers and Bonita Springs. -Inexpensive sushi rolls up to 7 pm -Inexpensive wine selections during happy hour -Sit inside or out (for weather) -Informal, however, nice atmosphere, in spite of being adjacent to a parking lot -Food and service are good, prompt. (Service is good when they have enough staff) -Staff is courteous and helpful. -Really tasty sushi. -Full service inside with Japanese grills for larger groups -Great prices Cons: -Hard to sometimes find a table outside at happy hour. -Sometimes only one person is taking orders, cleaning tables, pouring drinks, so service can be slow, and waiting for service can be frustrating. -Drink size can vary, one glass of wine will not be the same size the next -No non-alcoholic beer selections available for non drinkers and drivers. - Music is too loud sometimes, hard to talk over it. - The "torches" they light at sundown make a lot of smoke and smell of fuel, we've encountered this a few times, which makes the dining unpleasant. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, the food is good, and the drinks are the same. Prices are really good at happy hour, and the place is clean and service is usually good.More

We heard about their great happy hour so stopped to check it out. Outside was very buggy as it surrounds a koi pond with lots of plants. They were out of house Cabernet so I opted for a house merlot. House wines are only $3...during happy hour, which is great! But I didn’t care for mine.......Probably 10 different sushi rolls are $5 each during happy hour. We ordered a cucumber roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both were very good. Our waitress was wonderful, but completely overwhelmed. She had the entire outside and bar duties which made for a long wait for food and drinks. Not sure the prices are good enough to bring us back....More
