Bishop’s is an Episcopal school that nurtures students of intellect and character to think independently, learn collaboratively, grow their sense of self and act with greater purpose. Our vision is the pursuit of the question: How do our students learn and grow best? With core values of integrity, compassion, inclusion, intellect, excellence and justice, our community includes students from 90+ schools representing diverse religious, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. 20 percent of our student body receives more than $4.1 million in financial aid; campus life offers 72 sports teams, 40 performing arts shows in dance, theater, choral and instrumental music, visual arts options from photography to animation and more. Classrooms are designed for interaction and conversation rather than lecture. Bishop’s is an inclusive community that believes our differences are a source of strength.

Creative Sciences - Cross-Curricular Collaboration

Bishop’s Center for the Creative Sciences serves as a think-tank for STEAM and interdisciplinary education. Large and small-scale 3D printers, a laser cutter and a CNC router are available in our maker space to help students create, make and innovate. Every department on campus uses the Center to design and create materials for classwork, classrooms, props for theater productions and more!

This was our family’s first year at Bishops and our experience has been phenomenal!The level of academic rigor is impressive. The teachers not only teach students at the highest level but they encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone and explore new ways of looking at things. One of my sons went from being an extremely shy kid to applying for a Head Ambassador position and the other encouraged by his teacher to write for the school newspaper. The sports teams provide more than athletics as they foster tight-knit bonds between the players and bar none mentoring from the coaches. We all felt warmly welcomed into the Bishops community from the start. As a parent I was given multiple opportunities to volunteer and be a part of this lovely community. Having our children attend this school was the best decision we’ve ever made!

Review The Bishop's School

I'm a senior at Bishop's and graduating in just over two weeks and Bishop's truly changed my life for the better. The teachers and coaches here truly see you as an equal and want the best for you. They are genuinely interested in who you are as a student — both inside and outside of the classroom — and will come to support you in any way whether that be coming to your dance recital or the CIF final game on a Saturday. The academics here are supported by students who love to learn. The students here read books in their free time, take interesting internships over the summer, and are committed to academic rigor and excellence. Outside of the classroom, I've had the pleasure of being on the Varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams. Through these teams I met my closest friends and we are much more than just a team — we are each other's best friends through thick and thin. I'm so grateful for Bishop's and the incredible opportunities, friends, and experiences it afforded me.

I am a proud alum of Bishops. I feel incredibly blessed to have been given such an outstanding education at Bishops. The teachers and staff truly care for their students! I felt like my teachers were invested in my education and I was incredibly well prepared for college. The first day I stepped on campus I felt like I had become a part of the Bishops family and that feeling continues today - decades later.
