Country singer Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner have been married since 2019, and everything leading up to their fairytale wedding is a love story that we're fully invested in. After competing on American Idol, the two didn't leave as competition winners, but we'd like to think their adorable relationship makes up for that.

Here's everything we know about how the two singers met and their life as proud parents —plus their wedding photos are to die for.

Season 16 of American Idol crowned Maddie Pope the champion, but it also introduced us to award-winning country singer Gabby Barrett. While she was busy winning the hearts of America with her voice, she had her sights set on fellow contestant Cade Foehner. Gabby finished in third place while Cade was eliminated during the Top 5.

In an interview with PopCulture, the 2022 ACM Awards nominee admitted she made the first move because of their natural connection. "He has a really cool look, my husband ... he has lots of hair, just super cool rocker dude, and I wanted to make a video with him of us singing together. And so I initiated it. I didn't think he liked me at first, but then he texted me and I was like, 'Oh I see what's going on here,' so it was a mutual thing, but I went after him first," Gabby admitted.

Cade is a rodeo champion

Don't let the curly, flowing locks fool you (although, he recently cut them off). Sure, Cade gives that classic rock-and-roll vibe when you see him perform, but the 25-year-old isn't afraid to get a little dirty. Originally from Shelby County, Texas, Cade spent his childhood riding horses at the rodeo.

Whether you consider it fate or bad luck, the singer broke his leg as a teen while riding a horse. After the incident, Cade realized his passion for music outweighed his passion for the rodeo. Now, he's a solo artist and even joins his wife, Gabby, during some of her performances.

He even made an appearance in Gabby's latest music video for "Footprints on the Moon" from her debut studio album Goldmine.

The two got engaged and married just a year after meeting

Cade proposed to Gabby in March 2019 and the two quickly tied the knot during a ceremony in October 2019. The two lovebirds knew they wanted to spend their lives together so they asked, "Why wait?!"

In an interview with People, the couple explained the significance behind their proposal. The couple stayed in the same hotel where they first met while filming American Idol. Cade popped the question in the exact room where they first laid eyes on one another.

The intimate, rustic ceremony was in Texas where Cade grew up and Gabby looked stunning as ever in her elegant gown that matched the laid-back vibe.

The couple welcomed their first daughter in 2021

Gabby, 22, and Cade, 25, welcomed their first daughter, Baylah May Foehner, on January 18, 2021.

The "I Hope" singer shared the exciting news with fans on Instagram and wrote, "Got to spend a very sweet week with our newest addition.. meet our girl 🥰." Gabby and Cade have since shared snapshots of adventures as a family. Understandably, as the singer continues to rock the world of country music, she chooses to keep Baylah's identity private on social media.

We can't wait to see what the adorable couple have in store for us, including new music and upcoming award nominations!
