Natalia Marcos El Pais (Spain) The episodes of around 30 minutes pass quickly by combining new plots, punches of dark humor and crazy situations. [Full Review in Spanish] Mar 24, 2020 Full Review Brenden Gallagher The Daily Dot La Casa de Las Flores bills itself as a telenovela with a modern twist, and it mostly follows through on that promise. Rated: 3/5 Oct 23, 2019 Full Review Ariana Romero Refinery29 The de la Moras might be the only family messier than HBO's media mogul Roys in Succession. Oct 23, 2019 Full Review Jenny Nixon Common Sense Media Couple these modern updates with the addictive quality of a classic soap, and it makes for a fun, not-so-guilty pleasure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member If you liked "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" because it combines kitsch aesthetic with poignant story-telling, you will enjoy this season. The LGBTQ+ community is also quite fairly depicted, within a Latin American context (not Latinx, mind you). The plot is adequately convoluted, with some extreme turn of events not unlike those in other Netflix miniseries, like "Hollywood." Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Michela R Best intro ever ,great story . It's like a modern telenovela. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/20 Full Review Audience Member I simply love this modern dramedy series. It has everything that I expected, if not more. And yes, it has some LGBTQ+ characters, which is always a plus for me. Paulina is one of my favourite characters. She is played by Cecilia Suárez, who deserves praise of many for this role. At first, I wasn't used to Paulina's talking, then I couldn't imagine this show without it. The scene at Roberta's funeral is one of my favourite. As I said, I love a good LGBTQ+ representation, so another favourite character was María José. She is Paulina's ex husband, not accepted by the family. As I learn more about this character, which is played by Paco León, I am more and more drawn to her. All in all, every character has its charm. In my opinion,if you've an open mind; La Casa de las Flores is definitely worth your time.
