PAGASA Says Shearline and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and easterlies will bring rain showers over parts of the country.

On Saturday (May 11, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the shear line affecting the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon and the easterlies affecting the rest of the country will bring rain showers. Shearline is the line where northeasterly wind flow and easterlies meet.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Isabela and Aurora.

The easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate

Meanwhile, areas with a heat index between 42°C and 51°C are considered dangerous, according to PAGASA.

The temperature that a person feels, compared to the actual air temperature, is measured by the heat index. It is calculated by accounting for both air temperature and humidity.
