He was born Samuel L. Elliott on the 5th November 1976, in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin USA, but unfortunately there isn’t information about his childhood, such as the names of his parents and their professions, and whether he has any siblings or not. For his education, Samuel went to Whitefish Bay High School, where he played football and baseball and was the captain of both teams. After matriculating, Samuel enrolled at Princeton University, from which he earned a BA in ecology and evolutionary biology in 1998.

Career Beginning

Although he studied science at the university, he discovered an interest in acting during his years there, and once he graduated, Samuel moved to Los Angeles, California USA, to pursue an acting career. The same year he made his acting debut, with a minor role in the TV series “Undressed”, and continued with minor roles in such TV series as “Popular” (1999), “Hang Time” (1999), and “7th Heaven” (1999-2000), among others. In 2002 he secured his first recurring role, as Trey in the TV series “All My Children” (2002-2003), then started portraying Drew Mandel in the TV series “American Dreams” (2003-2004).

Gradually he was becoming more popular, and in 2005 he starred in the film “Wish You Were Here”, while he also was also in the cast of the horror crime series “Point Pleasant” (2005-2006).

Rise to Prominence

Samuel continued his career successfully into the second half of the decade, first with the role of Greg Harris in the TV series “Mad Men” (2008-2012), and with the lead role in the film “Slave” (2009), alongside Natassia Malthe and David Gant. He played Sam Allen in the TV series “Desperate Housewives” (2010), and from 2012 to 2015 he was Craig Tebbe in the TV series “Switched at Birth”.

Samuel had a notable role in the sci-fi mystery thriller film “Self/less” in 2015, starring Ryan Reynolds, Natalie Martinez, and Matthew Goode. In recent years, he’s appeared in Hallmark channel films, including “Walking the Dog” (2017), “The Perfect Christmas Present” (2017), and “The Story of Us” (2019).
