A quiet walk on a slightly chilly day. Wish I had more time to look around as had to head off for a flight. Will hope to call again.

We had my daughter’s 21st birthday party at the Pavilion at the Rivenhall Oaks.
The venue was great. At night, the walk from the carpark to the hall is lit, and looks really smart.
Lovely entrance hall with welcome note, cloakroom and ample number of nice toilets.
The room itself was plenty big enough for our 60 guests. Fully wheelchair accessible, as we had 3 wheelchairs at the party, and experienced no issues.
We hired in separately a Photobooth, which worked well in one corner. DJ in another, and the main bar in a 3rd corner. Seating for 50, plus plenty of dance space. The finger food buffet was surprisingly good and we had many compliments on the food the Oaks laid on. The staff were amazing, and helped us throughout the evening to ensure the party ran smoothly.
Overall, I was hugely impressed with the staff, venue and food. And would both recommend this to others and would use this venue again.

I rang this information centre wanting to know ways of transport from Witham to Maldon on a Sunday. A lady by the name of Lauren answered the phone. She couldn't have been more helpful and spent as much time as needed looking up different buses etc., In a time when everyone seems to be in a rush, she was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Lauren.

Standing tall opposite the library is a statue commemorating one of Witham’s famous residents - Dorothy Sayers. Worth a look.

I come across this set of roadworks regularly and there are very few experiences in life that can beat the feeling of sitting there staring at the endless red light as out of the corner of your eye the sun slowly sets and your evening ebs away into darkness. Luckily there is a fuel station and small shop nearby for sustenance during your long wait, along with a garden furniture shop so you can sit and relax while hearing the cars flowing beneath the bridge and knowing everyone else is going about their lives.

If you want a real treat approach these lights from the opposite direction. An adventure shrouded in legend and mystery, more men have walked the surface of the moon. It is said that any adventurer that manages to pass this way will receive all of their earthly desires and become a hero of the people. No living person is known to have completed this passing and the old historic texts were destroyed hundreds of years ago when the Great Library of Witham was demolished by the evil corporation Redrow.

We worship here Sundays, its the community spirit that you feel when you walk in. We have a wonderful choir and clergy that really do lift us up with joy and peace.

Witham Railway station is served by trains from London & Chelmsford to Ipswich, Clacton and it is a junction station so there are also trains to Braintree.

There are lifts to all 4 platforms (2 Eastbound and 2 Westbound) and there are disabled toilets and waiting rooms on the platforms.

The London bound platforms also have toilets for men and women and a coffee stand however when I visited it was shut.

The staff I spoke to were friendly and professional.

Maldon road park isnt quite what it used to be, there used to be HUGE climbing frames, slides like a proper park but was old fashioned.since they modernised it, it is more suitable for younger children but still gets a lot of attention from kids wanting some fun and adults wanting to catch up with friends but keep the little ones out of mischief.
It's a large area, plenty of benches although it seems some have disappeared over time. You can see over to the cricket fields and it's a lovely view for those in the elderly care home next door. Plenty of dog walkers and picknikers spend time on the grass.
Only issue is the public toilets are often close for the entire day no sign as to why, the closest toilets from there are wetherspoons or Tescos.

As I arrived, gardeners were hard at work tidying the hedges and grass. It is located in a corner plot on the busy main road.

The memorial itself was originally commissioned to commemorate those who gave their lives in the Great War. Also known as 'The War to end All Wars', sadly like most others this memorial is testament to the failure of that worthy aim, have been updated not only to commemorate further lives lost in World War Two but also more recent conflicts.

I noticed adjacent to the memorial a recently planted tree with a plaque indicating it's purpose to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War in 1918.

The memorial is a worthy local tribute to the lives lost in conflict over the years since 1914. Is it a vain hope that no more names will be added to this and other such site all over the country?

My husband and I took our 2and half year old grandson yesterday and it was absolutely brilliant!!!Such friendly staff,so much for our little grandson to do and such a beautifully clean environment to play in.The outside area is such a bonus too especially like yesterday when the sun was shining.Much better experience all round than Jungle Adventure or Go Bananas in Colchester as it’s really geared up for the playtime of the little ones.Definitely will be coming again!
