Hayward Reviews
Rating 3.95 out of 5 301 reviews
I reside in Hayward's new downtown condos, and it's been great. It's a very clean, peaceful town with extremely friendly people, fostering a strong neighborhood vibe. The town also boasts excellent public schools, a pretty downtown adorned with green-themed city lights, and a strong sense of safety due to the new police presence parked downtown. The downtown area offers top-notch service and plenty of dog-friendly parks. Although it's expensive, the community thrives with nearby colleges like Cal State University East Bay, Chatbot College, and within commuting distance of UC Berkeley and Stanford University. This attracts creative individuals and fosters success among local students. With its recent surge in an affluent atmosphere due to tech and an increase in Hayward High School students attending CSUEB, expect more upscale shops and restaurants. Overall, it's a beautiful place close to other fun and charming towns like Palo Alto, Castro Valley, Union City, Fremont, and Redwood City.
The city is beautifully pressed up against regional parks and it can be very lovely. There are a lot of old looking areas and buildings that are half abandoned, that I wish Hayward would spruce up. Also there are no protected bike paths here like there are in Fremont, it would be nice if that were implemented.
Hayward, California, is a city known for its diverse community, rich cultural heritage, and proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area. One thing many people appreciate about Hayward is its central location, making it relatively accessible to major cities like San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.
