Loaded Weapon 1 hits all the routine targets with soft squibs, yielding a tired parody that cycles through its laundry list of references with little comedic verve.

Brian Hoffman Orlando Sentinel If I listened closely, I could hear faint snores. (The more I think about it, they might have been my own.) Aug 11, 2020 Full Review Clifford Terry Chicago Tribune There is enough material to provide grins and, sometimes, guffaws. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 11, 2020 Full Review Angie Errigo Empire Magazine There may not be a laugh every minute, but there are enough to satisfy most devotees of the relentlessly silly, tasteless school of parody. Rated: 3/5 Aug 11, 2020 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a decent-enough parody film that feels like it could (and should) be better. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 22, 2023 Full Review Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant Neither Estevez nor Jackson displays much sense of comic edge. So after 15 minutes or so, "Loaded Weapon" becomes a shaggy cop story, a pointless joke that runs on ad nauseam. Aug 11, 2020 Full Review People Staff People Magazine There are enough serious laughs to suggest that Quintano may give the Abrahams-Zucker team (Naked Gun; Airplane) substantial competition in the mainstream parody business. John T. H very silly movie. still waiting for the second movie! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Michael C shut up i liked it =) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Carl J A surprisingly funny spoof movie. It's not one of my absolute favorites, but it's still very enjoyable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review DanTheMan 2 Much more of an imitation than it is an outright parody, Loaded Weapon 1 isn't short of the cartoon funkiness and hyperbolic explosiveness that makes the Lethal Weapon series so loved. In that regard, it doesn't feel too dissimilar to the real thing. It's got a great set of verbal and sight gags, cheap shots and sleazy comments which are impossible to catch all in one viewing, thanks to an absolutely stacked cast that features the likes of Emilio Estevez taking on the Martin Riggs role, Samuel L. Jackson as a Roger Murtaugh figure and then bloody William Shatner and Tim Curry as the villain and henchman respectively. With a suitably groovy soundtrack, it packs a lot into its swift 80-minute runtime and delivers a greatly stupid, silly and fun ride from start to finish. Oh and I guess this technically counts as Die Hard 2.5 because Bruce Willis appears in character as John McClane in a very fun cameo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review Sergio C Really funny and Samuel L Jackson makes it even funnier, instant classic hahahahahahaha Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/22 Full Review S S Classic spoof with an amazing cast people just don't get these movies and they don't make them anymore Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/22 Full Review Read all reviews
