Marine Option Naval Reserve Officer Training Scholarship

This scholarship pays 100% of tuition costs (averaging about $180,000 per student), either in-state OR out-of-state, for four years while a student completes their bachelor's degree. After receiving eight semesters of tuition and a monthly stipend, students then commission as Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps and begin a four-year term of Active Duty service.

HBCU Naval Reserve Officer Training Scholarship

This scholarship aims to honor African Americans and the impact of all African Americans in and out of uniform, in service to our great nation. This is an additional opportunity to earn the $180,000 Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship! You must apply for NETFOCUS to start on your application, including applying for NROTC universities for your college choice. This $180,000 scholarship is tied to specific Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) programs.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Students must be a United States Citizen
2. Students must attend a school that has an NROTC unit on campus. In North
Carolina, their options are UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State. However, they
can also go to school out-of-state if they so choose. A full list of schools

3. Students must score at least a 74 on the ASVAB, OR a 1000 on the SAT, OR a

Students are often unaware of the college admissions processes until it's too late (junior or senior year) and make avoidable mistakes in their underclassmen years with either scheduling or not taking it seriously. This program (College Planning and Counseling Planning aka...CPSquared) aims to minimize these programs and hopefully help the next generations at Cary high to be admitted into better colleges so that they can reach their goals.  Ask about it in Student Services!
