Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has a new gig.

Lewis will join the Las Vegas Raiders as assistant head coach, Pro Football Talk reports. Vic Tafur with The Athletic also confirmed Lewis' role with the team on X Thursday night, writing, "Davis said last week that Pierce would decide on Marvin Lewis' role, and it's going to be assistant head coach."

On Jan. 19, the Raiders announced that Antonio Pierce would be the team's official head coach. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero then posted on social media that Lewis, who helped Pierce after the Raiders made him their interim head coach this past season, would be joining the team in a more formal capacity.

Before this season, Pierce and Lewis shared defensive coordinator duties at Arizona State in 2020. The Raiders hired Pierce as their linebackers coach in 2022.

Lewis, 65, was the head coach in Cincinnati from 2003 until he and the Bengals parted ways after the 2018 season. Lewis has a regular-season record of 131-122-3 as an NFL head coach. He was also the Associated Press coach of the year in 2009.
