I recently had a great dinner here. I am more comfortable eating outside in the midst of the pandemic and they have a great outdoor setup. The fire grilled pizza is fantastic. They also have a nice wine selection. The service was excellent.

We got takeout from Wood & Fire, and it was all superb. I had a mushroom panini, which was huge and very tasty - enough for two meals. My wife had excellent butternut squash ravioli that was yummy. And the pizzas and salads were also...excellent. We'll go back!More
Really nice fresh food. I'm gluten-free so I didn't have pizza but the lentil soup and harvest salad were delicious. Small, neighborhood place. Seem very committed to providing a high-quality meal and service
I would maybe give this another chance because the service was good and I like the idea, but wasn't blown away on our first visit. I've been to Napoli. I know what the pizza there is like (I only mention this because the restaurant tries...to be up front about the Neapolitan style of pizza they serve-this is a good move). This pizza was fine, we had no trouble eating it. But it wansn't as good as I would've expected given the rave reviews. Characteristic Napoli char on the crust, but still a little undercooked to my taste. Give it a try if you're curious, but temper your expectations.More
Ive been to all of the pizza places that people brag about (Sal's, Bertucci's, Papa Gino's, etc). But, Wood and Fire in Melrose is in a whole other league. The pizza is crispy on tbe outside, soft on the inside and tastes out of this...world. Ive never had anything else like it. Simply amazing. A must try! Have the Nutela pizza for desert and you may not want to leave. Its that good.More
We had the caprese salad, lentil soup, margarita and Villanova pizzas. - well done. It is just excellent. Bartender Anthony is super organized. Owner Joe is really personable. Chef Omar is totally invested in the food and flavors. It's Absolutely Delicious. Highly recommended. It is...so good that it's busy and a small space so expect to wait a few minutes.More
This small little restaurant across from Shaw's supermarket is a great addition to Melrose. The seats are not close to other diners and the food is wonderful. They have a pizza oven imported directly from Italy. The decor is different, red & black and there...is a little bar at the back of the restaurant. The food is amazing, the rice balls are nice two small ones with marinara sauce on the side. The salads are big enough for two people, with the addition of chicken or grilled shrimp. The paninis are enough for two. The broccolli rabe is good not too spicy but the pizzas taste great, nice thin crust with sauce and fresh cheese, and the crust is so tasty due to the oven. The hosts and waitresses are friendly and always coming over to check. I havent tried the desserts yet but they look good too.More
Welcoming place to eat Everyone has a smile and a welcome Felt like we were family Food was authentic and plates were eye appealing No problem asking them to prepare to your request Pizza is like you were in Naples Italy Good time
I went to this restaurant while visiting Melrose, the food was excellent , the calamari was to die for ,the food was so good I went back the next week and had more , the staff are also friendly and can’t do enough for you.
Among all of the good reviews I had high hopes for this place, but when the tiny pizzas entered my house I knew I was in for an adventure. First of all the crust is burnt but the pizza was undercooked, how this happened is...rather crazy to me. The only way I could eat the pizza was by covering it in honey mustard, so if you order from this place I hope you like condiments. Whatever you do, don’t order this pizza because it really is quite disappointing, and inedible. Therefore save your money and go somewhere else because Papa gino’s puts this place to shame!!!More
Casual, local eatery with great homemade food. On various occasions, we've sampled appetizers, salads, panini, soups and my favorite, the melt in your mouth meat lasagna.
The fig and prosciutto pizza was inspirational. Lightly crisp on the outside, just the right amount of give to the chewy center. Flawlessly clean glasses, I am very picky about clean glasses. There are only three places in New England where i don't request bottled...water. The meatballs were tender, flavorful and juicy. We also ordered the barrata, prosciutto board and every item was delicious. The space was cozy and toasty warm, no doubt from the well crafted brick pizza oven. Lastly, the staff were all polite and inviting. We will absolutely be back.More
Although restaurant is small it makes up for it in quality wood fired cooking . They do take reservations but fills up quickly . The authentic food was greatly enjoyed with ample portions. They have local craft brew beers and nice wine list. Will go...back again. Really enjoyed the Nutella sweet ricotta strawberry pizza desert .More
Great pizza, sandwiches, pasta and salads. I love you can get a regular cheese pizza in about a couple minutes. Service is great.
We took a friend to this restaurant who is vegetarian. He loved the mushroom pizza with truffle oil. The quality of all the dishes was outstanding
