27th June 2023 – (Taipei) Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jam Hsiao has surprised his fans by announcing his marriage to his long-time rumoured girlfriend and manager, Summer Lin. Making the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday night, the 36-year-old singer expressed his happiness and gratitude for the love and support he has received over the years.
In his post, written in Mandarin, Hsiao wrote, “I know this is sudden, but I want everyone to know that I am very happy, I really am very happy. I have music, basketball, good friends, a loving family and my supporters, I have a lot. Now, I have love, a love that is true and complete.”
Hsiao and Lin, who turned 50 on the same day, have been working together since Hsiao’s debut 16 years ago. In his post, Hsiao wished Lin a happy birthday and called her his most trusted work partner all these years.
He also revealed that he proposed to Lin on Monday night and officially bid farewell to singlehood. “I will treasure and love her well,” he wrote.
The couple has been romantically linked for many years, with rumours swirling since 2011. In March 2020, Taiwanese media company Mirror Media spotted Hsiao and Lin heading to his house together, adding fuel to the speculation. In June 2021, the couple was also spotted in Beijing by paparazzi taking selfies in a car after Hsiao had recorded a variety show.
Despite the rumours and speculation, Hsiao and Lin have kept their relationship private and have rarely spoken about it in public. The announcement of their marriage has come as a surprise to their fans, who have been congratulating the couple on social media.
Hsiao is one of the most popular Mandopop singers in Taiwan, known for his powerful vocals and stage presence. He has won numerous awards and accolades for his music, including Best Mandarin Male Singer at the Golden Melody Awards in 2013 and 2019.
