Dale L. Schoenrock, 84, of Huntley, IL, passed away on May 08, 2023, after a battle with cancer.
Dale was born on February 7, 1939, to Edward and Pearl (nee Stralow) Schoenrock. He grew up in Minneapolis and then relocated to the Chicago area.
Dale enlisted in the army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and Germany, working with artillery and tanks. He then started his drafting and architectural career at Walgreens where he was an architect for 37 years designing stores and restaurants until his retirement in 2002.
Walgreens is also where he met his lovely wife, Diane. Dale and Diane were married August 27, 1988, blending their two families into one.
Dale enjoyed bowling and was awarded for scoring a perfect 300 game which placed him in the Bowling Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed fishing and teaching his grandchildren how to fish. Dale loved spending time with his family. He was always there to help with household repairs and improvements as well. We could count on him to bring his tools and teach us a thing or two.
Dale was very spiritual and volunteered extensively in all aspects of the Church. He was a valued Elder at Trinity Lutheran in Huntley.
Dale also liked to grace us with off the cuff jokes, singing and yodeling when we were lucky enough to hear him.
Dale is survived by his wife Diane, his 4 children Michelle (Rick) Brueckmann, Brad (fiancé Carla Paris) Schoenrock, Stacie Janak, and Brent (Nichol) Allen, his 8 grandchildren, Hunter, Jacob, Mia, Brianna, Brady, Caden, Finn, and Addy, his sister June Hegdahl and his brothers, Roy and Lee Schoenrock.
Dale joined his parents, Edward and Pearl Schoenrock, brother, Ned Schoenrock, sister-in-law Beverly Schoenrock, brother-in-law Richard Hegdahl, and son-in-law, Jim Janak in heaven.
Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
