Natalie Hemby released “Pinwheel,” the latest single off her forthcoming solo album, Pins And Needles. Hemby co-wrote the song with Barry Dean and Madison Kozak.

“’Pinwheel’ was the last song I wrote for the record,” Hemby stated. “I wanted lyrics that summed up the last 10 years of my life, which has been an absolute beautiful blur. ‘Carried all my dreams by the handle, heavy as an anvil. And then they all showed up.’ Barry Dean and Madison Kozak helped me carve out what I wanted to say…. Like a therapy session.”

Fantasy Records will release Pins And Needles on October 8. Hemby’s husband, Mike Wrucke, produced and mixed Pins And Needles at Wruckestrike Studio. Hemby previously previewed the album with the singles “Radio Silence” and the title track.

A well-established and successful Nashville-based songwriter, Hemby is also a founding member of the supergroup The Highwomen, with whom she performed this week at the 2021 Americana Awards & Honors ceremony.
