Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such lovely place to visit at Godalming! We were very lucky and had the change to meet with an artist and children books writer A dance In the moon) Susie Darnton. Her paintings are marvellous.
Besides this is a small museum it has pretty interesting stuff (my favourite the women’s banner). To finish your visit you can always enjoy a cup of tea in the cosy garden.

We visited Godalming museum as a family as my 80 year old Dad was born in Godalming and wanted a trip down memory lane.
The museum didn't disappoint and was fascinating - even for those of us not from the area.
loads of artefacts and pictures of days gone by including photos and biographies of how people ( famous and not so famous) have links to Godalming.
A lady volunteer was very knowledgeable and my Dad spent almost an hour chatting to her and reminiscing - she made his day.
The lady and gentleman in the shop were also very helpful.
Gardens were beautiful- all washed down with excellent value tea and coffee.
not to be missed if in the area.

This is a lovely little place with lots of fascinating local artefacts. They have a pair of Gertrude Jekyll's boots, well worn. There is a small garden at the back, altogether an interesting place. I visited before January 2021, in fact, several years ago, but this is a memorable place which I haven't yet reviewed..

Visited with a 10 year old. Assistant on desk was most helpful and gave us a trail of objects in museum for 10 year old to find. Great way to spend a wet hour! Thank you to all museum staff and volunteers for being so helpful.

Quaint museum. Easily missed, just a doorway on the high street. Over two floors. Lots to see. Good online library, photos, articles etc. The staff were super, so friendly and helpful.

Have just visited Godalming museum. What a lovely museum, its not big but its packed with very interesting artefacts housed in a charming 15th century property which makes all the more quirky and a real insight into the past. Even the beams have and explanation with letters to identify each one a a good written description. Its free entry but donations are welcome to keep this piece of history alive for the future. There is a small gift area and space for a tea or coffee which the excellent volunteers will make for you. Definately worth a visit.
