Even though the film was India's first live action - 3D animation combination feature film, it hit at the box office, but was saved by the high gross it made in a two week nett, but was still disliked by many critics, who pointed out some of the spoilers of the film, such as it being a remake of the 1996 family film, Space Jam, which starred Michael Jordan.

    Golmaal 3 is a 2010 Bollywood action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and the sequel to the 2008 film Golmaal Returns and the third film in the Golmaal series. It was reportedly inspired by Basu Chatterjee's Khatta Meetha, wherein Ashok Kumar and Pearl Padamsee played an old couple marrying with children from their previous marriages, and film's rights were later bought over. Golmaal 3 was released on 5 November 2010, and received mixed to negative response worldwide. However, the film was eventually declared a blockbuster at the box office and is currently the ninth highest grossing Bollywood film according to worldwide gross collections.In 2014, a Telugu feature film Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummada is a remake of Golmaal with top actors like Mohan Babu, Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Manoj, Varun Sandesh, Raveena Tandon.
