Waldorf Astoria Park City impresses visitors with its inviting atmosphere and a plethora of luxurious amenities such as ski valet services and indulgent spa treatments. While the rooms are praised for their style and comfort, some guests have pointed out issues with size and upkeep. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with the hotel maintaining immaculate rooms and facilities. Despite the warm and attentive service that often goes above and beyond, there are occasional service hiccups and concerns about value for money, with some deeming the hotel overpriced.

I cannot express how fabulous our stay has been and continues to be (I obviously cannot wait to write a review)! We have stayed in some very nice hotels and condos but nothing compares to the Waldorf! First of all it's off season in Park City right now so the deal we got on our room was unbelievable. We booked the one bedroom loft, two bath, full Viking kitchen, livingroom with a very comfy sofa bed, dining table and balcony. I am in awe at the quality of the room and furnishings...the kitchen is breath taking! We also have a spectacular view of the Canyons ski area.

When we booked we mentioned we were coming to town for our daughters surgery and we wanted a room in a quiet location. She is 8 and was so excited when we came in the room and they had homemade cookies and a note waiting for her. It was so thoughtful it made me cry. There hasn't been one time we have left the hotel or returned that every staff member we encounter has said welcome back or have a nice day. The valet, bell desk, front desk, concierge and maids have all been very helpful and kind.

We left at 6 this morning for the hospital and when we returned they had the sofa bed all made up with extra pillows and blankets and a huge decorated cupcake with a get well balloon. Once again brought a tear to my eye! We still have another day here and I don't want to leave!

I have to mention the towels, toiletries and bed...SO nice I want to take all of them home, including the bed. We haven't used the pool at all but it looks very nice. We ordered takeout from the restaurant today and it was really good. The location is halfway between Kimball Jct and Park City so it's quick getting everywhere.

I would recommend the Waldorf Astoria to EVERYONE. My husband says I need one more shout out to the management and staff to tell you all how "phenomenal" our stay has been. We will be back and we will recommend the Waldorf over every other hotel in Utah.

We (my wife and I) were mixing business with pleasure on this trip and thanks to all the folks at the Waldorf Park City, it turned-out to be more pleasure than business. Fantastic facility and staff! I'd like to send a special shout-out to lead concierge Christie Bambery. Christie made us feel so welcome and special and all of her suggestions for things to see and do around Park City were right on. This resort doesn't feel like a hotel at all. More like your own condo with full-service staff at your beckoning call. And I almost forgot, but they have complimentary 24/7 valet. Are you kidding me, I just paid $35/night for the same service at a Fairmont two weeks before. There is also a private shuttle service at your beckoning call in very nice luxury vehicles. Just a wonderful stay all-around. My only regret is that we were there for only two nights. So much to see and do this time of year in Park City and no crowds. We could have easily stayed for an entire week.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in August 2011. We had a Suite. The room was gorgeous! Loved the kitchen! The only thing I'd improve about the room was that the closet in the bedroom was unusually small considering the size of the room. But there were other closets in the suite that we utilized.

The valet guys were awesome. We utilized them a lot to take the van into town and to have them pick us up. We did not get a car, so we used them at least once a day, got our moneys' worth for the resort fee.

The concierge was really good too. All the staff were really friendly. However, things can be improved. I heard them tell way too many guests "I'm sorry" for various things, like orders from the restaurant coming out wrong to newspapers not being delivered.

Specific things about the staff that could be improved:
- Checkin - the woman at the front desk was very friendly but did not seem confident at all. Maybe she was new. No big deal but when added to other things...
- We did not get a newspaper delivered to our room every day. I am a Hilton Gold member, so we are supposed to get that. We were there 4 nights, only got it delivered 2 nights. And others on our floor received newspapers on days we didn't get ours, so not sure why ours wasn't there
-The restaurant was in transition. Spruce had recently left and they were trying to figure out what to do with the restaurant. We met a Hilton person who had just come in from the Roosevelt in New Orleans to work on the Food & Beverage task force, (Laura)so they are working on it. She was very pleasant, but it seemed that her boss was giving her dirty looks for speaking with us for 5 minutes. Her boss was Stephen. So kudos to Laura, and Stephen should lighten up a bit, speaking to guests should be allowed
- This may seem really minor, but when exiting elevators, there were several times that staff got on the elevator before allowing us to get off. If this was a regular Hilton, no big deal, but since its a Waldorf, they should wait until we exit. In a random conversation with one of the managers, he said they were trying to compete with the St Regis, so I'm sure at the St Regis, this wouldn't happen. I know I sound like a snob, but if they are putting themselves in the St Regis category, they need to improve service
- the biggest thing was that I had a wakeup call one morning as I was participating in the Park City Marathon. The wake up call did not come. Nor did the follow up wake up all 15 minutes later. I sought out the manager to comment on this, and he said he was sorry. But that was it.. This was a MAJOR thing. - I was late to the race because someone dropped the ball, and all the manager could say was he was sorry
- Speaking of the manager, we met the front end manager. He is friendly, but could use a little help as well. I got back from the race, and spoke to him for several minutes as he gave me a bottle of water. That was great. Then 3 or 4 hours later, he happen to drive the shuttle for us into town, and he didn't recognize me. Then when he asked what we did that day, and I said I did the race, he still didn't say anything like "oh, I spoke to you earlier" it was like the first time he'd seen me. The hotel isn't that large, only like 200 rooms, so its not like there were that many people there....

I had a great massage at the spa.

Did not eat dinner at the restaurant. We ate breakfast there, was good.

That was another odd thing. We ordered room service 2 days in a row. The first day, my husband ordered a salad with dressing on the side. That was no problem. The next day, he ordered the exact same salad with dressing on the side. They said they couldn't do that. When he said he had it the day before, she had to check and call us back. So she called back, she could do it. But when the salad came, it had the dressing on the side, but it didn't have the blue cheese that was on the salad the day before and had been described in the description.

We did tour the St Regis, and thought the Waldorf was a much nicer property. And we are already planning our next trip back. Bottom line was that the property is gorgeous, the staff is more like a regular Hilton. I expected more from the staff than that since its a Waldorf Astoria

We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City for a week to ski the Canyons, Park City, and Deer Valley - Everything was Awesome from the accommodations to the skiing!

The first day our shuttle pulled up in front of the resort, our door was opened and we were greeted by several doorman "Welcome to the Waldorf Astoria". I said "I am glad to be here" and they said "We are too"! From that moment on, everyone treated us like truly welcomed guests from the General Manager, Concierge, Doorman, Ski Valet, Housekeeper, Hostess, etc. The staff asked daily 'how was the skiing', 'what can I do for you', "are you having a good time'.... always making you feel that everything was about You.

We have stayed at many ski resorts in Colorado and this was our first trip to Utah. It won't be the last. The Waldorf Park City is now our favorite ski resort.

The rooms were very upscale modern, comfortable, and cozy. Marbled bathroom, granite countertops, cozy king bed, flat screen TV, fireplace, and complete stocked kitchenette. Our room was on the 4th floor same as the entrance to the pool. Very convenient for taking a hot tub after a long day of skiing. Huge towels and cozy robes are provided. Pool area had 2 good size hot tubs and the pool was the warmest pool I have even been in. Very nice while the snow is falling.

There was a fire pit out near the pool area where you could sit and have a drink or listen to the cowboy show while making Smores. They had the cowboy guys there a few nights and we enjoyed chatting to them after their show of singing and telling jokes.
The General Manager had a reception one evening where cocktails were served. He made it a point to come around, ask about your stay, talk about the area, and again, just make you feel comfortable and welcome.

The skiing!! What can I say, Awesome! The Waldorf is located on the Canyons property. You walk to the ski area outside from the lobby and the valet locates your skis and shuttles you across the parking area to the 5 minute gondola ride to the base of the mountain. How convenient that was. I never carried my skis more that 25' during this trip...that was a treat! Coming back at the end of the day, same great service, only there is hot chocolate and hot cider waiting for you while you put your slippers on and take off your boots. The ski staff was totally awesome, we had our skis tuned overnight, and anything you asked, they would take care of it. We also skiied Park City and Deer Valley and used the shuttle service - no issues at all and the skiing was Superb at both places.

The business center on site had 4 Macs and 2 PCs. This is the first hotel where I have seen Macs...pretty cool.

The restaurant on site (can’t think of the name right now) had good breakfast and we also enjoyed cocktails there a few times. We never ate dinner there, but the menu looked awesome. We went to town each night and tried several different restaurants. None were disappointing.

The shuttle service was great. We used it nightly to go to town and had no issues.

All in all, this property was Top Notch in every aspect and we look forward to returning. I hope they continue to keep the quality of service at the level we experienced.

stayed there during the 4th of July weekend and the service was down right bad, there are way to many high end choices in Park City with excellent and attentive service. 50 minutes to get margaritas and chips and salsa at the pool for example. I could go ono and on.

We stayed here for 4 nights in early March 2010. This is a very nice hotel with the service and amenities that you would expect for the price. Concierge service was great and they really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need (even down to the slippers they provide once you get out of your ski-boots). My only negatives are:

1. Location - While there is a gondola that takes you to the base of the Canyons - which is perfect for the skier, if you have a non-skier in your group, there isn't much to around the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Park City is a couple of miles down the road, so you either have to drive or get a shuttle.

2. Room - While the room was very nice (we had a suite with Viking appliances in the kitchen and TV's everywhere, including the bathroom), we found a cigarrette butt on the balcony upon arrival and one of the lights was blown in the guest bathroom - this was a little suprising given the price and the attention to detail in other areas. Also, the spa is pretty pricey (but very nice).

3. Restuarant Service - We ate at Spruce one night and while the food was good, the service was a litle slow (took the waiter a long time to greet us when we first sat down, and the restaurant wasn't all that busy).

This was our 12th trip to Park City for Skiing. The Dakota was substantially less expensive than staying at Deer Valley and since some of our members wanted to board we thought we would try the Dakota. The plusses, the staff was great , rooms were very nicely appointed, ski and board rental the building, convenient to Redstone Plaza and restaurants. On the flip side, the Dakota is a full ownership condo property not really a hotel. The one restaurant, Spruce is ultra fine dining. There isn't a place to grab a hot chocolate or pizza after skiing. Even the room service menu is ultra fine dining. Apres ski, the hotel offers cider and hot cocoa in the skiers lounge, but, it is really a skiers mudroom and unless you know where to look, you won't find the hot cocoa. The spa is nicely appointed, but, there is a $15.00 charge per guest per day for hotel guests, when you are paying upwards of $500.00 a day and a $25.00 resort fee there shouldn't be an extra charge. Also, the are no hot tubs in the spa you have to go outside and use the hotel hot tubs. The fitness center doesn't supply headphones, make sure to bring your own. Now for the skiing. We fully understand why Deer Valley consistency ranks as the #1 ski resort. The Canyons can't compare from a logistic or service standpoint. As far as the terrain, the Canyons really falls short with the intermediate skier and the ski school is so inconvenient. While the property advertisers ski in, to get to the Canyons from the Dakota you have to take a small gondola (when it is running and the wait when it is can be up to 20 minutes) to the base of the Canyons operation. From there you have to get into another line and take another Gondola to the base of the mountain. Once you get to the base, you will have to get into another line and take a chair before you can finally ski. Ski school starts at the top of the second Gondola and you will have to ride up with your child in the am and pm, even if you are not skiing. The staff of this hotel is really trying but unless you are willing to cook you meals or eat out side of the hotel every night and a re willing to put up with the logistical nightmares at the Canyons, stay at Deer Valley.

Just got back last weekend from a girls' weekend. Must say, place looks great. First impression is awesome. Service from the moment we arrived was fantastic. You are almost overwhelmed with the amount of people trying to help you when you walk in. (almost overdone) We checked in and asked for a mountain view room. Received a room with a view of a construction site to the adjacent lot across the street. Immediately we stated this was not what we intended and were moved immediately to a pool view one bedroom suite (which is what we booked) and found it much better, view wise. The view was of the inner courtyard area with the pool, but over the building you could see the ski runs and snow capped mountains. The rooms look larger on the website, but are very well appointed and the bathrooms are very nice. Had two bathrooms for this room - fully stocked with nice spa products. Kitchen was great - cooked in it and found it very nice, except missing a few utensils I would have preferred. Did find one cabinet about to fall off (saw this in another review). Hotel offers complimentary local transportation, but when we arrived, they initially tried to get out of this because their "house cars" were yet to arrive/or be insured. So, we stuck to our guns and they (eventually) honored what was offered and called cars for us every time we needed to leave the property. The concierge was great, especially once they realized we were "educated" as to what the property advertised. Housekeeping...could have been better. Saw a dirty q-tip behind my toilet Day-1. Was still there Day-3. Liked the place, overall. Just was looking for a more....cottage/mountain feel. This place is very contemporary. Golden Door Spa is nice, but overpriced. Spruce restaurant was VERY good, but, again...a bit high. Not afraid to splurge when we are on vacation, but come on! It was a bit over the top. Did not hit the pool or hot tub, but it did seem to be "serve yourself". We noticed the pool towels were left on a table in the rain, and never changed out once the rain stopped. TV...not many channels and the rain blocked out our satellite for a large portion of the day. Overall, I think this place is having a few hiccups management wise...but will get there in time. I would stay here again, but (as I stated before) I do prefer a more "lodge like" mountain feel when going skiing or spa'ing. (Note: there is a $25 resort fee that covers your use of pool, hot tub, fitness, high speed internet, etc.....you HAVE to pay it, rather you intend to use it or not. We used NOTHING and felt this "tack on" was irritating.) We did get a great deal on our room rate (included $100 a night in credit to be used in spa/restaurant, etc.) but the location was the major bummer. With it not being ski season, we weren't near ANYTHING of use/value, other than the things provided by the hotel, itself. Old Town Park City is a 10-15 min drive...keep in mind. It is nice, just not what we expected for OUR trip.

We visited the Dakota Mountain Lodge with a 17,16 and 14 year old. It is a brand new property that offered FABULOUS room rates. It is 5 star service in the mountains. We stayed in a one bedroom suite that opened into a room with 2 queen beds. Very comfortable with mountain elegance and comfort. We ate at The Spruce Restaurant which was very good. If you are traveling with small children, the kitchen has everything you need to cook so you don't have to leave the comfort of your room. I highly recommend the property and have done so to all my friends in Aspen!

Brought dvd's to play in the dvd player mentioned on the web site - oops, no dvd player in the suite. Tried ordering in room movies instead - oops, no in room movies. Went to dinner at Spruce Restaurant (made reservations from the room for the dining room) - oops, VIP in the lodge so we had to eat in the bar despite prior reservations. (Spent $300 for dinner for two and received mediocre service). Warm in the room so tried to set the temperature lower - oops, unable to get the room temp below 73°. Went to use the in room internet service to go out and see a movie - oops, no internet available today--sorry. Room is lovely, however, so extra star for that.
Never again!

Thank you for recently staying at the Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa.........our goal is to exceed our guests expectations in every way and our best learning tools are from our guests and their candid feedback on our services…I appreciate your comments on the DVD players in guestroom……..our intention in the design of the resort was to have DVD players in all guestrooms……..unfortunately during the installation of our TV and in room entertainment systems, the vendor advised that the compatibility of DVD players with our TV/Entertainment systems would be an operational challenge and thus we were not able to fulfill our commitment to install DVD players in our guestrooms………..I apologies for this inconvenience and not being able to meet your expectations on your recent stay……Regards

Hi Curiosity739380, We do have several supermarkets near the hotel. If you are traveling off Rt 80, there is a Smiths located at 1725 Uinta Way just off the main road. From Smiths, we are 2.3 miles down the road. In the opposite direction, there is a store called Fresh Market Park City. They are located at 1760 Park Ave and are about 3.1 miles down the road. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Charles Hill
