The Wesley School Reviews
Rating 4.63 out of 5 8 reviews
We transferred to Wesley from another private school in the area. We were seeking a school for our son that was both supportive and academically structured. Even before our first day, we were warmly welcomed into the community by other families. Wesley has a comprehensive infrastructure to ensure that children connect with others and feel included. After his first day at school, he couldn't wait to return. It's been almost two years now, and we are immensely grateful for the teachers he has had, the families who are now our friends, and the wonderful staff and faculty who all know your child, even if they are in different grades.
When we were considering schools, the resounding sentiment about Wesley was how special its community is. Initially, we thought, 'Well, that's great, but we really value education.' What we now realize is that the community, education, and overall experience at Wesley are all built on a common ethos, making it a place where children and families alike thrive.

We have attended The Wesley School with our children since Kindergarten. I can't say enough good things about the kinder teaching team because the kinder team is second to none. They can take any student, at any level and teach them to read and write and how to be kind. I'd say those teachers are gifted miracle workers. And as we continued on through the grades, we found the teachers to be the gift that keeps on giving. They see your children. They are talented, innovative, resourceful and problem solvers.
Before we came to Wesley, we heard that the school "makes good kids". And I'm not sure what's in the secret sauce, but it seems to be true. Maybe it's the down-to-earth parent base. Maybe it's the setting that is beautiful and calming. Maybe it's the incredible teachers who don't let anybody get left behind. Maybe it's the chances for parents to come and help support the school. I'm not sure, but the kids come out great.

We found Wesley after trying public TK in LAUSD, and fell in love with the humility and authenticity of its community. Compared to other private schools, there was no flaunting of wealth, designer bags and fancy cars. The families are warm and down to earth. There’s no buses as most families come from Burbank and Sherman Oaks areas which really allows for more family connections.
It’s a great mix of traditional academics and progressive values like the inclusion of a social justice class teaching about implicit bias and anti racism. 8th graders can still take algebra, unlike the initiatives in CA public schools to remove this opportunity.
The students are confident public speakers and kind. The teachers are engaging using experiential learning tactics. The new head of school is wildly popular and beloved.
Having just gone through the grueling kindergarten admissions process and touring over 20 schools, I’m so delighted to be sending our girls to Wesley.
