    AC BOARDWALK
Writing this while I'm still in AC. Almost switched locations due to the poor reviews. Been here 3 days not one person asked for money. Remarked to my wife on how clean the boardwalk and beach was. Out until 11p to 1am with no issues on the boardwalk. Some Marijuana smell but it is legal here. Planning another trip soon. Stayed at Resorts location was great, price was right, room and surroundings were clean. Only issue was the distance from rooms to self parking with luggage. Would stay again.

Don’t come with a closed mind. You’ll miss out on the fun.
Fun place. Exactly what you’d expect. Casinos, restaurants, bars, beach, boardwalk, tourist shops selling cheap stuff, people gambling, partying, dancing, drinking alcohol, smoking weed ( who cares about weed anymore, I mean really, get over your weed hating selves). If you’re not ok with any one of those things then this isn’t the place for you. You probably should go back to church.

    Waiting for a change
The Boardwalk seems to have changed a bit in recent years. Closed businesses, stores and restaurants. The sulfuric smell of marihuana in the air. Intoxicated people. There are still signs of past glory, beautiful monuments and buildings. The view of the beach. You can go for a walk but watch your surroundings. It is not the first time Boardwalk is going through some rough times. It needs to reinvent itself again... 3 stars are due to historical sentiments. It is an interesting but a sad place now.

    Mini getaways with my husband
I have been going to Atlanta city for the last 30 years. I loved the ocean. Boardwalk and restaurants. The last couple of years the boardwalk has been really dirty and run down. There are a lot of homeless people. People leave litter on the beach, I would like to see improvements now that Covid is over and people are back to work. People need to care about the environment and clean up after themselves. I will continue to go to the Jersey Shore as I have great memories there.

    A nice quick getaway
I came to Atlantic City Boardwalk about ten years ago. They cleaned it up a lot compared to ten years ago. There are shops and restaurants, and on the pier, there is a small amusement park with some thrilling rides. I biked the boardwalk from one end to the other, and it was safe and about 10 KM long. The beach in this area is lovely. I was amazed.

    Okay
Boardwalk is very outdated with old stores many of which still don’t have air conditioners. Everything, what is further down the Tropicana, looks abandoned. Too many certain kind of people hanging around. Sometimes it’s scary to walk after the dusk. The boardwalk tram service ends up at 9pm. You will be lucky if you catch the last one after 9pm. With people paying $10 for a day rides and who plan to go to a night concerts could be a dilemma how to return back to the hotel if your hotel is far enough to walk.

    Impressive Boardwalk
The boardwalk at Atlantic City is impressive with so much to see and do. There is a huge choice for food and drink as there are multiple cafes, snack bars, restaurants all along the boardwalk. There is also the pier with it's many attractions and rides including a big wheel, all are lit up at night. Well worth a visit.

I was in Atlantic City the week after the 4th of July staying at a nearby hotel and for that time of year, I expected to see an energetic, vibrant and welcoming scene. I walked between the far East end to Florida Avenue multiple times and different times of the day and found nothing inviting or welcoming about it.

If you sit on a bench, you are either surrounded by squawking seagulls or approached by the countless homeless people asking for something. When you walk the Boardwalk, you are constantly absorbing the stench of Marijuana smoke. Yes, it is legal but I still don't want to inhale somebody's exhaust.

The storefronts are not appealing (two of them were boarded up due to a fire) and the restaurant selection was very minimal. I settled for one near the Steel Pier because it had a decent view and the menu looked decent.

At night I walked to the Steel Pier and it is nothing more than a few rides and carnival games and had no cool vibe or energy to it.

Overall, I thought the "World Famous" Boardwalk was trashy and nothing that I would recommend to anybody or visit again.

Walking in late afternoon on a weekday, my wife and I felt outnumbered by vagrants and beggars. Buildings show decay even on their marquees.

In the middle of the boardwalk, we were stopped by a young man wreaking of marijuana trying to perform an obvious scam involving forcing a CD into my wife’s hands. When we tried to give it back, he refused and became hostile when we attempted to walk away. We left the boardwalk when we returned to our car to avoid passing the would-be con artist again.

I would advise against coming here.

Was there June to July during COVID. The vast majority of the people were not wearing masks. Many were loud and using foul language. Sadly the Atlantic City Boardwalk does not have much to offer other than bad aromas from dirty restaurants and homeless people and panhandlers. It hurts to say this but perhaps this cynicism is from the eyes of an older person, Some of the casinos are nice.

So we thought since the restrictions were less we'd go see how things were working out. We walked the Boards around 7pm and were appalled to see a flash mob robbing stores along the boardwalk.
When talking to another store owner he informed us that the robbery on the boardwalk has gone thru the roof. Many are leaving and now??? So will we for good.
The boarded up stores at the outlet stores coming into town are a warning for all to see what AC has become.
We would do AC regularly, not any more.

PS---This morning we read that a store owner being robbed had a heart attack and died.

The Atlantic City boardwalk has seen better days and worse days. Far from the glory of its heyday, but arguably improved since my childhood trips in the 90s. More care and concern for attracting families has been made by the casinos and Boardwalk businesses than in recent decades. The Boardwalk is filled with arcades, shops, souvenirs, overpriced food and everything else you could think of. It's got it all, in one very long strip. On the beach, more umbrellas and beach bars than ever in my lifetime. Walking the whole thing is quite tiring even for the young and fit. Renting a bike is the best way to go up and down the full length of the Boardwalk.

One of the greatest places in the world to people watch, in my opinion. Plenty of characters, multiple places to eat, carnival games, rides, helicopter rides, go-carts, and yes casinos. You can walk into any casino and enjoy a world-class meal, ice cream, subs, shopping, and more. The HardRock has a ton of memorabilia you can spend hours looking at and reading about. You don't have to gamble to have a good time. If you are intimidated by gambling but want to try it, all the casinos have a courtesy desk that can give you the basics. To play a slot machine you don't need any skill, just a few bucks to have some fun. You may win, but chances are you won't, but the cost of the entertainment of playing is worth it. There are some homeless people that will ask you to help them out, either give them some money as it will make you feel good or just say "sorry" and they will walk away; they are professional. There is the smell of marijuana in the air and if that offends you, this is not the place for you to be. The beach is spectacular. The boardwalk is a place where people come to let their hair down and have a good time. You can ride on the trolley which has a set price or one of the pushcart guys will take you where you need to go for about $10. Relax and have a good time.

The Atlantic City Boardwalk is a wonderful place to visit during these crazy CoVID times or anytime.
There are plenty of places to get a drink, snack or meal. Lots of room to keep safe while getting some sun or exercise. Also, several benches to rest and people watch. Plus if you want to try your luck gambling just chose a favorite casino.
Walking the Atlantic City Boardwalk is a tradition that will get you coming back again and again!

When in AC I always want to stay on the board walk. The ocean is your playground and the beaches are pretty and accessible.

There are all sorts of stores and restaurants on the boardwalk. I get some of my best clothes and buys here. The shoe outlet has amazing shoes at a discount and I wear them all the time. Emerald Rose is not open off season but I have gotten reasonable clothes that are unique and wore them to events like the Drama Desk Awards and nyc benefits and people think they cost 10
Times what I paid. Winning Streak and it’s owner Basset have been finding me unique outfits for years. When you shop the boardwalk you get to know the shop owners and they steer you to what they think you would like.

There are very good deals on food - including the Irish Pub that has $10 meals. It’s one of my favorite places to be. It is much quieter in the winter as some shops close but you can get a $20 and a myriad of wonderful cloaks for under $30!

We are staying further south and visited for the afternoon. Everyone should visit once (for 1/2 day) but stay in Ocean City or points South. It's an easy drive (less than 30 miles from Sea Isle City), parking was $10, and we enjoyed walking around the boardwalk, walking along the beach, and taking the little tram that costs $4. There are beautiful places to stay in Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Stone Harbor. Cape May is a must too. If time is limited, skip AC, it is seedy and run down. Parking tip- go to "Resorts" at the far (North) end of AC. There is a surface lot (safe) 1/2 block from the boardwalk $10. You pay inside the Rodeway Inn at the front desk.
