Having been called the Brewery Tap when first built after WWII bombing it was subsequently called the Diamond Queen and has a bit of a drag LGBT following, Much later renamed the Royal and then after business seemed to Peter out there has been a pause and it’s now been reopened and called the Brewery Tap again, professing to be opening daily.

Called in briefly on Saturday night. Only four other customers, BT non league football on TV but no draught ales and just two bottles of ale In a chiller cabinet no use as a palatable option. The pub is clean tidy and well cared for. Not sure where it can get customers from.

We had a small gathering for family and friends after a family funeral. The staff and amenities were great a nice pub not a outlet run by a big operator

Came by tonight and saw that this place on the South East corner of Sronehouse Bridge roundabout has just reopened now called the 'Royal' and with several chalked up 'A' blackboards showing all kinds of attractions. Only had a swift half. Friendly enough at 5.45pm with a bit of passing trade from the works exit of Princess Yachts.

Got the impression this seventies pub by a busy roundabout at the very bottom of Union Street had been relaunched with a flourish last spring as a flamboyant predominantly make gay pub. Such places are often more entertaining and lively than routine pubs and given its vague presence on the road towards Royal William we came in twice last year. Our impression was that it is a bit flat unless there is some live entertainment. Have come by here many times over the last two to three months and never notices much sign of activity. I presume that it it is either trading very discreetly and not attracting attention or that it is only open on pre-arranged days of nights, if at all. Maybe someone who knows the pace better could post some info and interior photos.

About a year ago this place got a splash of publicity as an LGBT friendly bar with a fair bit of entertainment. We had a drink once or twice walking through Stonehouse to or from RWY. Haven't heard anything of it for about six months so don't know if it is still operating. I see it still has a Facebook page but not much activity since the summer.
