Summit welcomes first neurosurgeon to Hutchinson in November

Dr. Thomas Frimpong will become the first Neurosurgeon to practice in Hutchinson, joining Summit Surgical.

His care focuses on brain and spinal disorders, with expertise in scoliosis, complex spinal disorders, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Frimpong received his doctorate from the Medical School at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and completed his fellowship at Bassett Healthcare, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.

“The Summit is excited Dr. Frimpong will be joining the Summit team and providing much-needed, high-quality, spine care for patients in the Reno County area and beyond," said Randy Roatch, CEO, The Summit. "We are blessed to add a provider with his unique and specialized training. We expect patients will be relieved to receive Dr. Frimpong’s care options close to home. His services compliment the excellent orthopedic care the Summit is known for,”

Dr. Frimpong will see clinical patients starting Nov. 9 at The Summit. He will also be performing surgeries at Summit Surgical Hospital, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, and several Wichita hospitals, depending on the post-op needs of his patients.
