Staff was very friendly and welcoming, much exceeding what is expected from an international standard hotel. There was a small gift and a candy box for our one-year old son. We had requested a room that was close enough to the restaurant that we could set up the baby monitor to dine while our son was asleep, and that worked perfectly. We really liked the restaurant, original menu and well executed, contemporary ambiance. While we were immediately above the restaurant and there was a DJ playing that night, we could hear only limited and muted noise coming up. The hotel is particularly well connected to the Eurostar terminal. Bonus if you are into cars, there is an opulent parade of luxury and sports cars in front of the hotel going on permanently.
For improvement: One room cleaning issue was quickly resolved by hotel staff. Couldn't charge restaurant bill on the room while hotel had our credit card details saved, very unusual and oddly distrustful towards guests if you ask me.

I originally booked another Radisson hotel (off Oxford street) due to covid I was moved to the May Fair. The hotel is lovely, upon arrival I was greeted by a lovely lady at the front desk who kindly gave us an upgrade (I was in London celebrating my birthday). The room and bathroom were very big which was great as I was staying 6 nights. Breakfast is closed during the week but in room dining was offered. Food was nice and there is plenty choice, however the order was slightly wrong on the first morning but asides from that the order taker was very polite. The room was very clean, although some guests like fresh and clean towels everyday, I prefer to keep them during my stay (better for the environment!) I think it would be nice like most hotels to give guests the option for clean towels with a small note in the bathroom like most hotels, I am sure others would feel the same, it was nice to have fresh towels everyday but a little unnecessary (I did fold my towels away rather than leave them on the floor). Asides from that, lovely stay. Great location and staff were all lovely (apart from one rather grumpy concierge staff). Would recommend and definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was terrific. Our room was spacious with a king size bed and lovely marble bathroom with tub and shower. All spotlessly clean and kept that way by daily room service. The location is excellent. An easy walk to the busy nightlife, bars, and theaters of the West End, but located in the relative calm of Mayfair. It's also surrounded by nearby parks if you want to get off the concrete and into the green—Green Park, Hyde Park, and St James Park. There are also loads of superb restaurants within easy walking distance. We especially enjoyed Hide and Lucky Cat. And don't miss the nearby Handel and Hendrix Museum, where you can walk through the legendary musicians' actual homes. The Green Park tube station entrance is literally around the corner from the hotel. If you are flying into Heathrow the hotel is one simple subway ride away. From reception to doormen to restaurant and bar to concierge, hotel staff was universally wonderful: helpful, friendly, and professional. Sometimes at nicer hotels like this the staff can be oppressively solicitous—to the degree that you get the sense that they are always hunting for a tip. I did not get this sense at all here. The staff is always there, but never in an uncomfortably sticky way. We had breakfast every morning at the May Fair kitchen and it was excellent. Coffee made to order, fresh fruit, salmon, juices and eggs made up as you like them. The guacamole was insanely good, clearly just-made, and a lovely surprise to find available with breakfast. Had drinks and appetizers one night at the May Fair Bar: cool vibe, savory food and lovely drinks. If you haven't already worn yourself out walking London, there is also a decent gym. Finally, we have to compliment the hotel management for accommodating us due to an unexpected schedule change. When Trump shut down flights from the UK to the US due to coronavirus, we had to check out two days early to catch the last direct flight to California. Though we had made a nonrefundable prepayment for our lodging, the hotel reimbursed the last two nights of our planned nine night stay. With this touching act alone, for us the May Fair won a lifetime of returns to this their wonderful location in London.

We were left with a bitter taste in our mouth after breakfast. Firstly we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, when considering you've been charged £41 per head for a buffet breakfast you certainly don't expect that, in a room that was completely manic & overcrowded. The room was decent enough & the hotel has a lively atmosphere. 1 major positive is the location which is walkable to some fantastic parts of London.

Thank you for your feedback and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, with regards to your breakfast experience, unfortunately we do get extremely busy during the weekends and sometimes there is a short wait for tables, we do serve breakfast also in The May Fair Bar, which can be a little quieter . With reference to our pricing, this is in line with other 5 star hotels within the May Fair vicinity. Kind regards, Botho Stein General Manager

I surprised husband with a Christmas weekend away. Akil the human and the phone robot butler 'Edward' did a fantastic job! Excellent attention to detail. Attentive staff and extras made us feel super special. Restaurant is lush and all restaurant staff did an excellent job under immense pressure since the hotel was very busy when we went. Only challenge was not many exciting vegan/gluten free options, so I hope the kitchen improves special breakfast menu. Saying that - lunch menu was great but still needs a little thought so vegan/gluten free guests dont risk inferior meal. Room was lovely. Bathroom lovely!! Towels and robes were fresh and fluffy and room included a heated towel rail. Bed was soooo comfy! Lobby lush ans sets the vibe nicely. All around a dreamy weekend in a ridiculously prime location. Thank you Akil and all staff!! Can't wait to return! x

Really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Would 100% recommend. Was upgraded to their studio suite for our anniversary and it was very well worth it. Breakfast was great and generally in-room dining was also really good, their Mayfair Kitchen was great too, although cheaper options available outside the hotel plus ubereat/Deliveroo options at that location are really top drawer too.

Below average experience.
Room was small. No plug sockets near mirrors which is ridiculous?! The staff are clearly aware of this issue as I called and asked if I was missing something or if this was the case and they brought a mirror up to the room so I could get ready.
I requested champagne and chocolates to be in our room on arrival which never happened.
View from the window was abysmal but upon reading reviews it seems that we were lucky as we were at the back of the hotel and it was quite quiet.
Room extremely hot and air con has left us both with a sore throat so probably needs a good clean.
Overall the whole place needs an update. Paid £300+ purely for location, the rest is below premier inn standards.
Tip: Get breakfast somewhere else. For £30 a head you can have a lovely breakfast somewhere where you are waited on rather than lining up like cattle for a bit of cold bacon and to be ignored when asking for a hot drink or slice of toast.
Would not return.

We stayed at The May Fair Hotel for 3 nights (Fri-Mon). Upon arriving, we were informed of a free upgrade and directed to our room. The room was spacious and well equipped.
The breakfast at the May Fair Kitchen was fantastic; staff couldn’t be more helpful. The range of food on offer was great. Alongside the traditional buffet breakfast, was the option to have it all cooked fresh or order other breakfast items that weren’t available on the buffet.
The May Fair bar was great too. Very lively on a Friday/Saturday evening, with a live DJ on these evenings. The drinks menu was varied, however I would have liked the bar staff to be more knowledgable of the drinks on the menu. In other 5 star establishments that I have stayed in, I have asked for recommendations on drinks, and I do feel like some of the newer bar staff here could not offer this service.
The reason that I have not given this hotel a 5 star rating is purely down to one staff member. On Saturday evening we visited a local wine bar and decided to bring half a bottle back to the hotel (with a cork in), to enjoy in our room. One of the concierge/porters told us that we needed to ‘hide it’ or we would ‘get him in trouble’. Later on this evening my partner went down to the lobby and the same member of staff told my partner that ‘we had cost him £40’ for taking the closed bottle of wine up to our room, insinuating that he wanted reinstating. I do not expect this kind of behaviour in a 5 star hotel. I could completely understand if we had arrived with an open bottle of wine, swigging from the bottle, but this was not the case.

Aside from this, we had an enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

My wife and I were very much looking forward to our first visit to the Mayfair hotel. After all it’s the Mayfair, a five star property which boasts charm and history, but We were so disappointed that it didn’t meet any of this criteria. Upon arrival we had a stress free check in, and wandered up to our room. It was basic, dull, outdated, and certainly did not have the wow factor we were expecting. We got changed to go out into town and went down for a drink. There is one cocktail bar open, overcrowded, rowdy and not a table in sight. We insisted as this was the only bar in the hotel and we were residents, we would like a drink. We were informed there was a waiting list, but could give us a. Table for 25 mins. 😳🤷🏼. Next morning we rang down to the reception for some milk. No answer so I text the automated service line, which took over 45 mins to arrive. By which point we had given up and gone down for breakfast. Service in the breakfast room was diabolical. Things arrived wrongly, asked twice for toast and never arrived, asked for poached eggs and got scrambled. No salt and pepper on table despite asking twice, brown sauce requested and was looked at gone out. Was offered a refil of coffee, then it never arrived. In conclusion, I was amazed at how this hotel downgrades itself. It’s the Mayfair hotel in London a five star hotel renowned for its heritage, sadly I’ve had better service at a travel lodge. I won’t be choosing this hotel again. Very disappointing.

Is this a 5 star hotel then no and Certainly not for families.

Positives
Nice rooms
Clean rooms
Lovely breakfast

Negatives
People begging for money outside the hotel
Noisy club downstairs
Drunks fighting in the hotel lobby
Busy road at 2 am, beeping
People playing knock a door run and setting off fire escape doors at 1 am
Fire alarm being set off until 12am plus
My daughter was poorly and we asked for cereal which they charged us 8 pound for, where’s the customer service. 8 pound for a variety box of cereal?

Basically our kids were kept awake by the drunks, fire alarms, knock a door runs and constant beeping of cars until 3 am!! The hotel management did apologies when I complained at check out but the experience left a bitter taste in our mouths.

One star from our family due to them not controlling the club, the begging for money outside the front door and for no customer service especially when we had a poorly child.

I also wasn’t recognised as a Radisson member

Not sure what you mean by “ best way”? Cheapest is the Tube. But I believe you may have to change trains. My advice is to spring for a cab especially if you have luggage. I figure you’ve spent considerable $$ on airfare and hotel a little more for a safer, quicker direct cab ride is worth it. Everyone is not at their sharpest mentally after a long overnight flight. And you’ll be an easy target for pickpockets on the tube. And you’ll be dealing with flights of stairs going out of the tube station.
