Microsoft has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Danger Inc. Danger is known for making the Sidekick mobile phone. The software giant said that Danger will now be a part of Microsoft’s Premium Mobile Experiences team (PMX).
Though the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, Microsoft said that employees of Danger will continue working from the current Danger offices.
The founders of the Danger, Matt Hershenson and Joe Britt will also join the PMX team and will directly report to Roz Ho, corporate vice president of Premium Mobile Experiences.
“We imagine a mobile experience that embraces sharing and celebrating relationships and personal moments. Combining Danger and Microsoft talents together in the Premium Mobile Experiences team is how we’re going to deliver cool, new, fun mobile experiences to consumers. We want people to smile every time they look at their phone,” said Ho in a statement.
Microsoft hopes that the acquisition will result in offering rich consumer experiences in communication, media sharing and more.
Only time will tell, whether Microsoft would be able to come up with a revolutionary device or not after the acquisition of the Sidekick mobile phone maker.
