During the 1910s ethnic humor was not only acceptable -- it was welcomed with open arms. That's about the only explanation for this odd Irish-Western romantic-comedy. Denny O'Hara (Shorty Hamilton) has just wed Eileen O'Connor (Ellen Terry) when he hears that his invalid mother (Florence Drew) has been evicted from her home. He rushes to her, but it is too late -- she is dead. Denny wants to kill the cruel landlord (Lewis Morrison), but discovers that the job has already been done by a poacher with bad aim. The local priest (Andrew Arbuckle), who hears the poacher's confession, realizes that Denny will be blamed for the murder and helps him escape to America. Denny makes his way to Arizona but finds it hard to make a living. Ultimately he decides to rob an express shipment of money, but a gang of real thieves beat him to it. Nevertheless, Denny is able to find the money, and buries it on his ranch. Eileen comes to join her husband and they live uneventfully until a detective tracks him down. By then, however, the sheriff has made him a deputy and asserts that Denny has located the money. Denny helps capture the thieves and his name is cleared for good.
