Estonian rally driver Ott Tänak’s career began in his home country, where he won the national championship in 2008 and 2009. Ott went on to win the European Pirelli Star Driver shootout. That victory earned him a PWRC support category programme in the 2010 WRC, where he finished in fourth place.

In 2011, Ott drove the Ford Fiesta S2000 in SWRC. Three victories that season gave him a chance to win the title, but he had to settle for second place. His performance earned him a promotion to the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team for 2012. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as hoped, and Ott was dropped at the end of the season.
