      Critics Consensus

A League of Their Own puts some spin on its pitch, lobbing a serialized expansion that swerves dangerously close to anachronism but hits home thanks to a roster filled with all-stars and a field rich with possibilities.

Rebecca Harrison Sight & Sound Every character feels well-crafted, and beneath its retro-chic veneer, A League of Their Own has created a likeable (and believable) team of women that it’s impossible not to root for – even if you don’t fully understand the rules of their game. Sep 9, 2022 Full Review Constance Grady Vox A shining example of what an adaptation of a classic can be and rarely is... affectionate to its source material and true to its spirit, while at the same time aiming for an entirely new idea. Aug 22, 2022 Full Review Alison Herman The Ringer League of Their Own adapts a once-minor bit of sports trivia to refract modern standards of representation through rich period detail. Aug 18, 2022 Full Review Scarlett Harris Scarlett Harris (Medium) Don’t get me wrong, these main characters who we know from Broad City, The Good Place and Parks & Recreation are stellar, but it’s the supporting and emerging cast for me. Rated: 5 Aug 7, 2023 Full Review Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome At its core, A League of Their Own (2022) is about women wanting. It addresses the simplistic feeling of desire at a time when decisions for women were made for them without much concern for their emotions. Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community A League of Their Own is incredible. It’s both one of the best sports stories and one of the best queer stories I’ve enjoyed. Rated: 9.5/10 Jan 14, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

isa d The only flaw is that it ends Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Erica P OMG bring it back. Do we need a conversation pie to get it done? HILARIOUS. EMPOWERING. FUCK YAS. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/15/23 Full Review Eric P This show tried so hard to be representative of the present and much superior idiologies of tolerance it lost it's ability to tell a story that takes place in the time which it's set. Swing and a miss. I mean if they'd set it somewhen else the show'd probably be better. Perhaps in the 70's when people were allowed to have those conversations. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Tal T In comparison to the Movie, this show doesn't stack up. The performances are lackluster, and there's no actual excitement provided . No Pizzazz. In a nutshell, it's a poor production as nothing seems to really fit and there was no attempt toward any sort of Character development, they all just arrive and therefore are just there. No background, no lead up, nothing. And the attempts to provide multiple Gay encounters/relationships are just not needed and further adds to a rubbish outcome. There's so much potential for entertainment that has just been missed entirely. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Rosanna H I found a new favourite show! This show made me laugh, this show made me cry, it has a great narrative arc with satisfying story beats. This earnest and witty show is a fantastic watch and I highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Sesame G Absolutely adored. Loved it so much, recommend to everyone I know. Has me crying tears of joy and heartache Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
