Rush Springs: Larry Eugene Williams, 65, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at his home in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Gospel Tabernacle, with Rev. Ben Bernard officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Larry was born Tuesday, July 22, 1958 in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Elmer Warner and Helen Ruth Williams. Larry grew up in the area and attended school in Bray. On July 3, 1978, he married the love of his life, Carla Galer, in Wichita Falls, TX. They lived together in Rush Springs where they raised their family. Larry worked as a horse trainer, and he was known to be one of the best around. Larry enjoyed riding horses, roping, raising cows, and attending church. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church, and he loved to sing and worship the Lord, read his Bible, and pray. Larry also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Larry was a hard-working family man, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Carla, of the home, two sons, Larry E. Williams Jr. and wife Kerri and John Arlen Williams and wife, Cecelia Louise, eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Wright, Madision Williams and fiance, Austin Cline, Larry Williams, Ayden Williams, Tatum Williams-Hughes and husband, Cason Williams-Hughes, and Layton Williams, and two great-grandchildren, Quincey Tate Williams-Hughes and Oakley Cline, three sisters, Mary Hill, Pauline Hillger, and Christine Williams, two step-brothers, Johnny Schaub and Jackie Schaub, four step-sisters, Julie Schaub, Ann Sheets, Glenda Kerbo, and Marie Schaub, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and step-nieces and step-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helen, his stepmother, Rose Williams, three brothers, John Westley Williams, Warner Williams, and James David Williams, his sister, Sandra Kay Steward, his nephew, Tony Wade Patton, niece, Desiree Nicole Brown, and daughter-in-law, Selina Williams.
