I stumbled on accident on this quite enjoyable samurai drama based on a novel by Natsuhiko Kyôgoku which is in turn a twist on the popular Japanese ghost story Yotsuya Kaidan .
Warau Iemon is apparently a pretty obscure movie (I actually had to put it onto TMDb in order to review it here, which is a first for me), but entertained me nonetheless.
For anybody unfamiliar with the underlying kaidan (ghost story) let me summarise it real quick:
