A look at the life of comic and DJ Kenny Everett, who died aged 50 in 1995. His talent, originality and sense of the outrageous made him both the enfant terrible of broadcasting and one of its brightest stars. Using archive footage, home videos and interviews, the programme traces his rise from pirate radio to primetime TV icon, exploring the insecurity and sexual angst that troubled him later in life.

Music used in Kenny Shows

  • “Supernature” (by CerroneWikiLink). From Cerrone’s third album (1977) called by same name. The song is almost 11 minutes long and it was used by Hot Gossip (two different video versions, the latter with two different length; the original studio version in S01e01; the 2nd version, partly location, partly studio, longer version in both S01e07and Best3; and the same 2nd version, shorter duration in S02e10). Pay attention, the first and second version use the different part of the long song! Song itself (the part without singing) was used in every show ending during Season 1 of The Kenny Everett Video Show (1978)
  • “The Lone Ranger” (by Quantum JumpWikiLink). The Quantum Jump’s single was originally released after a two year break of the band (1976). The beginning of the song (partial) was used as the beginning of the Season 2 of The Kenny Everett Video Show (1979). The original music video clip:
  • “Electro People” (by Noosha Fox, written by Kenny YoungWikiLink). After retiring the music business (Noosha) Fox reformed briefly in 1980, releasing the New Wave-influenced “Electro People”, written as the theme music for Season 1 of The Kenny Everett Television Show (1982)
  • “Video Love” (by Helen Chappelle). Theme from The Kenny Everett Video Cassette, complete song.
