Arvin A. Beckmann (Beck), 84, of South St. Louis County passed peacefully on April 30, 2024 with his family at his bedside.
Beloved husband of Beverly (nee Eisenbeis) Beckmann and treasured father of Jerry (Marilyn) Beckmann, Kristy (Ty) Pierce and Jim Beckmann. Cherished grandfather of Dan Beckmann, Tom Beckmann, Tiffany Pierce, Gina Pierce, Seth Beckmann and Shane Beckmann. Dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor.
Born March 22, 1940 to the late Elfrieda (nee Hollman) and Walter Beckmann, Arvin began his life in the southern Illinois town of Jacob. Their family moved to St. Louis County in 1942 on the same day Bev was born. Arvin and his three siblings, Delores, Harold and Diana (Cookie) grew up in Vinita Park where Arvin attended Normandy High School. Arvin also served in the Army Reserves for six years.
In July of 1961, Arvin met Beverly at Lake of the Ozarks. It was love at first sight. Three years later they wed on September 19, 1964. They bought their first home in Crestwood and later moved their growing family to South St. Louis County.
Arvin began working at Tulley Equipment Company eight days after Jerry was born in 1965 and was the backbone of the business for 40 years. He was an outstanding athlete, pitched a mean game of horseshoes, and was a BBQ master. He enjoyed bowling, yardwork, and road trips to Wyoming and Springfield, MO. He especially delighted in a spirited game of cards with loved ones.
A devoted husband and loving father, Arvin’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a hardworking, honest man with a big heart. Arvin was gentle and kind to all and will be dearly missed.
Services: Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home at 10151 Gravois Rd, on Thursday, May 2 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Assumption Catholic Church at 4725 Mattis Road on Friday, May 3 at 10:00am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
I didn’t know Arvin too well but I do know he was a great guy with an even bigger heart. He always had a smile on his face when you saw him and he was a joy to be around. I remeber helping him out with Tom in his backyard. Arvin was a joy to talk to, and i will always cherish the times I got to see him and Bev! #rip

So sorry to hear about Arv’s passing. Mom and Dad loved playing cards with the family. Don’t you bet there is one big card game going on up in heaven now? They were all waiting for him to join!!!!

Dear Bev and Arv’s family,
Uncle Arv was one of a kind, and believe me, there are all kinds in this family, and they are all wonderful. I enjoyed every visit, family reunion, card game, and game of horseshoes. I’ve never known anyone who could wear out a deck of cards faster than Arv. He was a kind and gentle man, and I will miss him.
