Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie haven't lived The Simple Life since it premiered more than two decades ago, but they might just do so again, Deadline reported.

The reality series was launched in 2003 and followed the two wealthy socialites as they try living the simple life by doing manual labor such as cleaning rooms, working in farms and as camp counselors and serving meals in fast-food.

The caption said, “New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.”

In the video, both Hilton and Richie can be heard singing while a static television played in the background.

Hilton hinted at this possible reunion when she posted a collage of her and Ritchie's early photos on the social media platform, referencing the nicknames they picked for each other, “From Day 1. Sill and Bill.”

The history of The Simple Life

The series premiered on Fox on Dec. 2, 2003 and ran for three seasons. Hilton and Richie allegedly fell out in 2005 which led the network to cancel the series after season three.

E! picked up the show, where the fourth and fifth seasons were aired. The series made both Hilton and Richie into global reality stars. The show had consistently strong ratings. The series also had seven international remakes in Brazil, Canada (in French), German, India, Serbia, Turkey and Uruguay.

In 2021, Hilton appeared in the reality series Paris in Love for Peacock. The show's first season focused on her wedding plans to venture capital Carter Reum. Season two featured The married couple and their infant son, Phoenix.

Last year, A24  acquired the rights to her 2023 memoir Paris: The Memoir for a series adaptation. Hilton's entertainment company 11:11 Media, Dakota and Elle Fanning's Lewellen Pictures and David Bernad's Middle Child Pictures will produce.

Richie was most recently seen in the remake of the 1991 coming-of-age Black comedy film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. She also voiced a few characters in the Fox animated comedy series HouseBroken. She also guest starred in the now-canceled ABC sitcom Bless This Mess. Richie will next be seen in the comedy feature film Summer Camp, starring Kathy Bates. The movie will be released on May 31.

It would be interesting to see what kind of show the Hilton-Richie reunion would be. When they started in The Simple Life, they were in their early 20s. Two decades later, both are married and with children.

A Seattle Post-Intelligencer review described the two in their reality show as being unapologetically shallow and having good-natured mental incapacity. The same won't be said now. Both have had their challenges very publicly played out.

I don't expect the same shenanigans they were into in their 20s. They're in their 40s now, but the trouble they get into — if that's the tone of the show — will be different but maybe just as fun.
