"Fly Back To Chicago. Find Another Bar. Find Another Girl"
Starting out a little too slow for my taste––with all of the songs and singing––the film makes a rousing turn into very dark suspence. Marilyn Monroe plays a mentally disturbed woman quite well. This is Marilyn before she became "Marilyn" –– her hair is still brown.
And a very young, sultry Anne Bancroft is a delight to lay your eyes on––and she commands your complete attention when the camera is on her.
Richard Widmark has always been one of my fave actors of that time period. The man could create tension with his entire body and then could hold all of it in his face and eyes.
This is a very good movie.
Thank you, Arthur Blacksmith, for the upload.

Focus on Marilyn
This is a very watchable film, although the subject matter may have been more suitable as a tv play than a full-length film.
Marilyn, playing the part of a deeply disturbed young woman, is the centerpiece of the story. There are quite a few close ups of her throughout the film, so if you are a big Monroe fan, you will love it. She does quite a decent job in this role - I admit I was surprised !
Playing opposite Marilyn is Richard Widmark - refreshingly down to earth and realistic in this role as a cynical womanizer who comes to learn a thing or two about women and about himself. Completing the main cast is Anne Bancroft. Her acting talent is already very evident, and and here you get to hear her SING too !

One of Marilyn Monroes first dramatic roles
There are three stories running in this film, one about a pilot (Richard Widmark( trying to redeem himself with his singer girl friend (Ann Bancroft). The elevator boy (Elisha Cook Jr) trying to keep his job in a busy hotel in New York city and being drawn into a nightmare situation with a disturbed girl (Marilyn Monroe) he's trying to help get back on her feet, by getting her job as a baby sitter. But things start to get out of hand when the babysitter starts to lose it and begins imagining things.
