- Mine was the "other comment" and I freely admit I was wrong. I'm doing some deep listening to prepare to make a record now, and the depth of care & craft on this one is astounding. Phenomenal horn arrangements, relaxed yet tight band performances, covers of the deepest cuts you could wish for, a percussion device called a "lujon" built by a Harry Partch collaborator. I wish there were more Maria vocals, given how good hers are on side 2.
- This album is great through and through! Easily worth multiple listens. I think the other comment is only half correct. Side 2 is a confirmed banger blvd. BUT side 1 is equally as good! This is such a solid starting off place for people getting into either Geoff or Maria/ their duo stuff IMO. I am most partial to Geoff's bluesy stuff but Maria always kills it. Together you can't go wrong.
