David and Juan were absolutely wonderful. As a solo traveler, I always gets a bit nervous when going to nice restaurants by myself, but they made the evening absolutely marvelous and enjoyable. They really took care of me and made sure my meals, sanitary and...safety, and overall experience was outstanding. The food was really delicious. I ordered a gin and tonic and it was made in front of it, and it was one of the most well balanced gin and tonic I’ve had. The surf and turf combo was absolutely outstanding. The steak was seasoned delicately- flavorful but not overpowering. And the giant prawns really add textures to the meal. I know people always say that Pujol is a must visit in Mexico City, but I think it’s over rated. Skip Pujol and come to Porfirio. 10/10.More

Seriously the service was terrible and when I put 70 pesos tips they complain about it. I think They missed the whole idea of tips. Also restaurant was a bit overpriced and waiters spoke zero English. Churros came super cold

Easy to arrange reservation on short notice. Wonderful selection on the dinner menu. Attentive wait staff, not rushed. Shout out to Eduardo. High end part of town Lots of special service activities at table side like meat carving, mixing, deserts. Only distraction was the loud...sound system.More

Amazing restaurant in the beautiful area of Polanco took an Uber from Zocalo area. I had made a reservation through Opentable, visited during pandemic. All staff wore PPE and they make you walk through a apparatus which sprays you, reminds me of carwash. It's pretty...cool and makes you feel safe inside. Was there for a birthday, music is a bit loud which makes it hard to communicate with waiters but ambiance is really nice. Live mararchi performed did an amazing job. Appetizers and food was great cooked and seasoned just right. Will visit again.More

Went with friends to Mexico city for celebrating a milestone. We splurged everywhere and really had a great time overall but restaurants outdid themselves in serving us middling and pricey fares. It was disappointment to disaster at several high end restaurants that we visited during...our 4 days. Well the one that pleasantly represented the better end of the spectrum was this Porfirio and the only one we hadn't picked before we landed in Mexico city. What a fantastic experience we had. Every dish brought to our table was flavorful and inventively presented. Staff was hyper busy but made us feel we were the only customers around. It was hands down the favorite part of our party of 11 over 4 days in town. While it wasn't cheap, we typically paid over twice as much at other similar places for ho-hum to downright banal fare. Will definitely visit again when in town.More

I picked this place out of nowhere , I just wanted a nice meal while being in Polanco for my boyfriend’s Bday and didn’t disappoint. The costumer service was impeccable, and a BIG thank you to GUSTAVO, our server, he was friendly, professional and a...great personality. I liked the vibe, the dimmed lights and the music which it was in a great volume to manga in a good conversation . What I loved the most was the presentation of the Birthday dessert, they brought a decorated cake with another person playing las mañanitas in a big wooden music box . Highly recommended.More

We booked this restaurant as we wanted to experience fine dining in Mexico City. Let me tell you one thing - if they are among for Michelin star, they are nowhere near. Once we sat down, we were given a QR code to scan and...access the food menu. In the meantime, we had 2 different waiters asking questions all the time, which did not help with ordering. In the end, just 2 out of 3 of us ordered starters. When we wanted to see a wine list, we were given a tablet to select one- Why wouldn't you have one method to provide menu to customers? You have food on your phone via QR code then wines on the tablet.... this does not make sense. The food was OK but not exceptional. I would expect something better. The ambience in the restaurant reminded me more of the dance club vibes with very loud music, which might be quite disturbing as we had to shout to each other.More

It was amazing! Our server, Nazario, was excellent. He was attentive, nice, and gave great recommendations. The trompo al pastor was delicious and it was so entertaining to watch it prepared at the table. There was a DJ, a mariachi band, and each diner got...an individual sparkler at one point. All the restaurants in Mexico City have been amazing, but this has been our favorite! It’s also an amazing value. You get so much food and great service for a very reasonable price.More

Excellent experience for my final night on vacation. The Black Onyx porterhouse was amazing. Perfect size for 2 people. The elite traditional and papas puree con queso y jalapeños was a great side. I even enjoyed the cactus salsa and I don't eat vegetables. After...dinner we ordered the churros...5 churos 5 dips... 5 stars! Nelson was very helpful and Gabriel made sure every part of my experience was satisfactory. I hope to make it back to this great location again. Also the atmosphere was very live with a dj and music videos playing at an appropriate level to allow you to still enjoy conversation while dining for any occasion.More

Excellent food and service. We tried a bunch of stuff (cochinita,chalucas.,quesadillas)and it was all delicious. The staff was very attentive and kind. Raul and his team provided a great experience. They also brought us the kids tray which our 5 yr old used to decorate...and then eat cookies. Highly recommendMore

This visit was full of contrasts and contradictions. The decor is vibrant, the atmosphere is lively and the service was good (although we had challenges due to language, including a LONG wait for separate bills that we requested at the outset). The music is very...very loud. The food, however, was absolutely underwhelming …. In fact it was disappointing. The tortilla soup was like canned tomato soup (I had been so excited!). The salads were so basic. The food was equivalent to a low end chain restaurant in Canada. This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Hyatt, so we were shocked by the calibre of the food. It was our last night in Mexico City, so quite a letdown. We were happy, at least, that we discovered a new part of Polanco. Mexico City is a culinary gem, so please choose a different restaurant!!More

We came very often to this Porfirios back in 2017 and we just loved it. Now we came with a big group this last Monday pm and it changes a lot. I have the impression that they’ve lost their science and really dislike it. Don’t...know why they’ve change so much!More
