I have yet to begin classes, however thus far has been great with the faculty and all their guidance.
I love the community here and the teachers, there are literal gems of teachers within this institution. I recommend that many people go here.
The time I've transferred from Mercy to Hostos, I thought it would be a better place for me to improve and learn and as a self-taught Animator/Artist and I was right. The professors are beyond amazing and kind, especially my career - related professors. You can see the passion in them and the love they have for the subject, I really appreciate what they have taught me during the years.
My only problem with Hostos Community College is the service, no one picks up the phone in any department ( I've tried calling every 1 hour every day and NO ONE picks up the phone, I don't want to leave messages because I know they won't be calling me back, I tried that before.) and the site always has an issue. Which means that you have to go in person, and most of the time people working there don't know how to handle the situation.

My expierence with Hostos has been a bit of a challege espically with the on boarding and Admission process.
It has been difficlty to get a hold of someone espcialyy with the process is time sensity.
So when send emails and adding the appropriate individuals,I was able to speak with someone regarding matters.

Hostos was somewhat good but i did have several problems with the professor and adviser which weren't the best but at the end of the day I graduated with a 3.0 GPA
Hostos has a very accommodating educational system. All of the professors genuinely want to see you succeed and they give many materials to help the students. I used to go to a cutthroat college and it was a very toxic environment. However, Hostos promotes everyone furthering their education and being successful. ALso, the college is very clean and I have never felt unsafe.
Overcrowded classes just recently started I would like to change the amount of people in the classroom
During my college journey, I embraced a diverse range of experiences that shaped both my academic and personal growth. From delving into challenging courses that fueled my passion for my major to actively participating in extracurricular activities like the environmental club, I found a balance between academic rigor and personal interests. Navigating internships in my field provided invaluable real-world insights while overcoming obstacles taught me resilience and adaptability. The friendships I cultivated and the collaborative projects I engaged in not only enriched my social life but also fostered a sense of community. Hostos provides many opportunities.
CUNY Hostos is a great option if you’re in the Bronx and looking for a good close by school because it is near a lot of public transportation. After attending a SUNY and coming to hostos I can see the unprofessionalism with some professors but it’s not all it’s just more compared to when I was in SUNY. There’s not much of support from the professors in my opinion they give the idea that they support those who have kids and work but when something comes up they make an issue and I don’t have kids but I have seen some people who have kids and have other things going on in there life and professors make it seem like they accept we are all busy but it shows they don’t accept it when it comes to grading.
It was a really nice experience to be apart of a new program. It is the only 2-yar CUNY school with its own Gam Design program and the first school to create a Game Internship program out of all the city schools. I love that I got the opportunity to join it. I would definitely like to see more funding and promotions on unique programs like that. Its very underfunded and deserves more praise since Esports is becoming a huge scene.
I met a lot of people I'm sure going to be in my life for a long time. I am so glad I went here. My life has forever changed.
I feel that all classes should be online for those that show responsibilities and communicate either by email Orr in person when needed.

It’s one big family. There is always someone to guide you to the right path. there is always help from other students and professors. There are a lot of passionate students and staff looking for others to thrive.
Staff is amazing and helpful school is big and clean and organized . Everyone is willing to help and proffesors care about the students education which is great .
It’s a dirty terrible school where the teachers are involved in with the students. They curse and scream
It was a great college. The staff was always available to help you with different resources to be successful in your academic journey.
My first year was great, it was not easy but Hostos and the Staff treated me well. The books were pricey for my first semester. My classes were science based meaning they were high maintenance and required my time and attention everyday, study and assignment wise. My teachers were supportive and gracious in their office hours with me, but I still needed to discipline myself. I would like more career opportunities in the school. I had to work outside the school to support myself during the school year and it made my schooling more stressful since I had less time for studying and assignments.
