About
This historic Boston market has been around since 1826, and today has over a hundred pushcarts, shops, restaurants, and food court stops. Across the three market buildings (Quincy Market, South Market and North Market), you can find interesting coffees, artisanal bread, fresh seafood and of course, the Boston favorites: lobster rolls, clam chowder and Boston cream pie. Learn more about its history on a free guided tour by the city, or along with other historic sites in Boston on a walking tour. Located along the Freedom Trail, make a stop on the way to the New England Aquarium, Beacon Hill, and the Museum of Fine Arts. – Tripadvisor

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.

    Well worth a visit
We visited here several times during our visit. It’s an interesting area to spend time and amazing to see all the great food on offer even if you don’t get the opportunity to try it. The area has a great atmosphere.

    Crowded
It's definitely a place to check out, and has a lot to look at and explore, but was extremely busy and not many places to sit and eat if any. Hard to move at times as well, and food was fairly expensive for what you get. Just be prepared when you go.

This was my family's favorite place to visit each night. Great food options at affordable prices, everyone can eat what they want. Great atmosphere with live music and several shops, some unique to the Boston area.

Fun market with some rich history to enjoy
Located right next to Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, to me was a lot more interesting. It has a totally different vibe than the rest of Boston. Loved the history and architecture of the building. Inside of course, is a giant market / food court with a ton of local food vendors to choose from. On the side of the building were your typical tourist vendors where you can get all different kinds of souvenirs. The market and surrounding area were definitely crowded and noisy. Street entertainment was also present. Although it did have a little bit of a tourist trap feel, it was worth it to go and spend a few hours.

A must visit when visiting Boston. Lots of amazing choices to eat. Great prices and quick service. I visited one of the lobster rolls stands, Chinese and pizza and they were all delicious.

    Something for Everyone
A great place for a snack or meal while walking the Freedom Trail, the market is bustling and offers a wide variety of food options. There are plenty of places to sit outside if the inside is a bit crowded. This put us in mind of the markets in many European cities.

    A must see in Boston!
The building it worth seeing and inside is worth wondering through just to see all the food and retail vendors. If you’re looking for some seafood samples this is the place to find something for a meal or snack. I’ve also been in November and was there the day they light the Christmas tree made it all the more beautiful!

    Great Afternoon Stop
Loved all the shops, places to eat, activities, street performers… everything! A great stop in Boston! We visited the Christmas in Boston shop, Ben & Jerry’s, lots of the fun souvenir places, watched several performers and enjoyed our afternoon!

    Great experience, so many options!
If I'm right, this is inside Faneuil Hall Market. We ended up eating here for lunch with our 8 month old, we got Kong Dogs, and they were SO good. Overall, there are tons of options and places to eat, great environment and lots of people, fun place and clean, well kept. We would come back here to eat again. Bathrooms are a bit hard to find, you have to take the elevator.

    Place to be for foodies
Loads of interesting quick bites to try! If you are looking for best lobster roll I would go elsewhere, but many others were great. For example place serving tacos was excellent! Eating area is quite crowded, so in case weather outside is good I would prefer takeaway.

I came to Quincy Market in 1988 & remembered it to be a great place to try lots of New England seafood. I visited there this week & was disappointed to see how expensive it’s become. There’s few seats & no tables, so plan to walk & eat. It is very crowded & many don’t wear masks.
It’s a good stop when visiting Faneuil Hall’s free 2nd floor “Cradle of Liberty” exhibit. The Salty Dog is my favorite place for food. It’s offers the same selection of seafood for the same prices & you get to sit down & enjoy!

Hard to really rate the experience. As long as you go in realizing this is a tourist trap and set your expectations appropriately then you can still have a great time in the area. Food is average. Prices and not cheap. Shops are the usual you would expect in the area. We were going to stop at Faneuil as well but it was closed on Tuesdays. We still stop in the area each time we are in Boston. We just can’t resist. Parking is a challenge especially on weekends and is expensive though we booked online at the 75 State Street Garage which was much cheaper than just driving in. They just send you a QR code to get in and out of the garage. Enjoy.

This is a must stop for me every time I go to Boston. If the food and shops weren’t already a great reason to go the street performance just enhance the experience that much more. Totally a must see place, every time.

I enjoyed walking around the Quincy Market and seeing all the food that was available. I definitely recommend coming on a weekday if you can because there weren’t a lot of people when I went. You can definitely spend 1-2 hours here looking at everything. The Colonnade within the market is by far one of the market’s greatest aspects. It’s basically a long hallway of food on top of food. Definitely come with an empty stomach so you can try all the food that is available. If you decide to come here, also check out the Faneuil Hall Marketplace because they are right next to each other.

Quincy Market is a foodies paradise…so many options to sample. I recommend starting your morning or elevensies with Bread O’Life (west end inside the main doors) their bagels are HEAVENLY, right amount of chew. I loved the Nova Lox on an everything bagel…wowza! My hubby loved the BLT on Asiago bagel. Lots of vendors and shops line both outer sides of the market. Faneuil Hall/market is directly next to it…it’s a win win. Really enjoyed the architecture of history meets modern, still amazing. Well worth a visit.

The building and the staff working there were great, however you will need deep pockets to eat not only here but anywhere in Boston. If sea food is your thing this is the place to go. The big downside for me was the toilets here, they are disgraceful for tourist to use and need improvements. Having said that the lack of public toilets in Boston is an absolute joke to any tourists visiting

Stores closed at 7pm everyday, so plan accordingly!!!! .... Food vendors are open inside Quincy Market, but it was hard to find tables and chairs to sit after purchasing the food. The food selection is mediocre, pizza, lobster sandwiches, clam chowder, mac n cheese ... I may come back in spring or summer for lunch, but I will skip the winter and dinner times.

It's nothing spectacular, but it is neat to visit. My group liked their food okay, nothing really stood out as great. Liked the upstairs seating area, that was cool. Its very crowded but that's pretty much any major city market. Parking was very expensive near here so I would recommend hitting it on the freedom trail.

This is an iconic attraction that should not be missed. Customers congregate in a central hall flanked by all kinds of food stations. The mix of food and fun generate an exciting atmosphere. Everyone can pick out their favorites. It should be noted that the food is not cheap (but not excessive). It is also not particularly unusual. Most of this food can be found in any food court around the country. Finally, before you pick up plated food, make sure you have a place to sit. Unfortunately, there is not enough space for all the people who would like to dine. If you don't have a lot of time, grab something to carry on the run.

One of the best places for a variety of foods with old world surroundings and lots of history! Everything from Pizza to hot dogs, sausage and peppers, to ice cream all prepared fresh and ready to eat. It is surrounded by familiar name stores and outdoor dinning, freelance entertainers and live music all day long. A great place to spend afternoons with friends downing a beer and just enjoying the atmosphere!
