Quiet on Set: Dan Schneider’s Apology
What did you watch as a child? If you often watched Nickelodeon, then you probably remember the show Victorious. Victorious was a popular children’s show written and produced by 44-year-old Dan Schneider. He began Nickelodeon in 1994, making a string of children’s shows for the network all of which include; Drake & Josh, Zoey, iCarly, Victorious, Sam & Cat, and later Henry Danger, All That, Game Shakers, and The Adventures of Kid Danger. He was eventually removed from Nickelodeon in 2019, where he was paid 7 million dollars to end his contract.
Dan Schneider released a 20-minute video on his YouTube channel where he was interviewed by BooG!e who played T-Bo on iCarly. In this interview, Dan Schneider talks about the documentary Quiet on Set and shares his opinion. He particularly talks about the ‘On Air Dare’ segment, where he claims he had no idea the kids had problems with the segments. He claimed he only learned this when watching Quiet on Set. He believed only some of the segments pushed too far, though he still continued on with the children knowing this.
He later apologized in the video saying what he did “breaks his heart” and that he’s “so sorry”. Since being fired from his position at Nickelodeon, he has maintained a low profile. However, more information continues to surface about the horrors that occurred on set.
